That's a theory but why would DC not approve that? If I were them, I would think it was BA and make it a must-have for my MoS figures!

Licensors can be weird like that and want consistency across the line.

I can see that hence why Superman and Jor-El have the same base essentially.

I see lots of complaints about this, but I wonder what the reaction would've been if it was "Clark Kent (Oil Rig Rescue Version)" from Man of Steel, complete with raincoat, shirt, ball cap, Command Key, and two pairs of pants (one scorched )pair?

There's always going to be a bunch of people who have no interest, clogging any thread up with their waste of time "I will not buy this" comments.
You have to be used to it by now!

Oh, and i would have pre-ordered a "Rescue On The Oil Rig" Clark in a second, lol.

Yeah something like that would suck if it were an exclusive because that's something people (myself included) would want. This is something that the die hard fans really want so it makes sense as an exclusive. I actually want that figure though now, damn you

very cool!!! love the idea of the evil Reeves Superman for a limited edition exclusive. the first Reeves is one of the their best figures IMO so more Reeves is a good thing. It will sell out easily if its only 600 pieces. Hope I can get one!!!

The darkened evil suit is cool because its one of the only variants you can do with Reeves Superman suit. There were really only very slight differences to his suit from all his movies most you cant even see, but this was one of the more obvious differences. The capes they made for Superman the Movie were still being used on the later sequels or some stunt capes had no S on the back. So this is a cool variant i think for Reeves collectors.

Yah would be nice to get Zod or someone else from these films, but maybe in due time.

Freaks are freaks. they will complain about anything. People who love Superman and the Reeves movies will be very happy. If not, then move on and don't buy it. No reason to get all bent out of shape. They arent forcing you. Just move on if your not interested.

This is exactly what a con exclusive should be. An unnecessary but really cool redo. IMO.

this isn't a terrible figure but I can totally see someone who owns the original release looking at this as a waste of an exclusive, I for one love it, its something you would never expect to be made which makes it perfect for an exclusive, this along with the DX14 release has me very excited for what it has in store for the future when it comes to the past

Very accurate lol. This is good for an exclusive IMO. Usually exclusives are just variants of a character already available and that's perfectly OK. Its the times when they're not that kinda bug me.

I'm a huge Superman fan. But even I will pass on this one. Its too close to the other Chris Reeve Supes. Like others have said. If they came out with a Clark Kent figure. I would be down for that.

It would explain why the majority of the collector based items have the 'S' shield as a base (movie masters, Kotobukiya statue, DCC iconic statues). The only one I can think of that doesn't have a shield base would be the SS PF

I have no quarrel with this release even though I'm more than likely passing. It makes for a great TF EX IMO. But yea, I'd totally buy that MoS Clark Kent you listed
