Assuming they factored in licensing fees in these figures, now that they are custom, shouldn't the price be lowered? Wishful thinking, I know. I am still upset not to be in the top 100, very confusing/misleading contest.

Yup! My thoughts exactly.

Damn, feel bad for Fire Figures. Latest Update from their FB page:

Dear All, we have received an email from Ubisoft that we need to close down all the production being non licensed. Though we were not using their name but this has came to our knowledge that we need to take our website down and stop production. Our team has flown to talk to Ubisoft team and for its license. Meanwhile we are now starting to refund the amount we have received through our customers. This was the reason we were busy in and not being able to reply. We are really disappointed by the Ubisoft for not being able to allow us to manufacture Custom Figures without their name. Once we have got some licensing news, we will be back.. For everyone else, we are refunding the amount and you will be getting your amounts back in 2 to 3 working days. Whoever is left or not refunded, please write a message here so that the complaint can be catered. We are sorry for disappointing you.

Well, at least they're attempting to talk with Ubisoft on a possible license agreement. These were fantastic figures, it would be a shame for them to go to waste like this.

still can't believe they thought it be ok - they basically said we didn't use the word Ubisoft so it was ok, true but you did use the characters name, the Assassins Creed name, the design of the characters - leaving out the name of the company was the least of the worries...

True, using character and company names was pretty stupid. But depending on how you look at it, there's nothing really "wrong" using the character design, at least not in this hobby when unlicensed figures are constantly being made by 3rd party companies like Brother's Production for example

Exactly! They are acting all butt hurt and still can't understand why Ubisoft had an issue with their figure :slap Ubisoft were informed of this figure before they decided to dial down the name to assassin, far too late as they were already on Ubisoft's radar for destruction.

This has turned out to be one huge mess from all the build up, odd special offer for the first 100 customers and the licensing issue to denying they have done anything wrong :cuckoo: I hope that Fire Figures have learned something from this.

Funnily, I'm not thaaaaat disappointed. As long as I get my money back of course.

I got mine back on Tuesday.. so disappointed but I'd prefer an official release anyway plus I managed to grab the 3A carter for the sMells price using the refunded money, so my 1/6 video game character fix is good for now!

These people are idiots. They should have just kept it all under fakes names like Assassin and such and they would have been fine.

Ubisoft probably intentionally let them collect the money and spend their own money getting started up so it hurt more when they shut it down. LOL

I just figured that if they were unlicensed they obviously didn't care about copyright law and were in a country where the chance of prosecuting them would be close to zero.

I didn't think they were scammers but I can't believe they turned out to be just people that were so dumb they couldn't see why Ubisoft would have a problem with this.

They really shouldn't've used the AC logo and character names from the start. That's what got them in trouble. Claim filed.

They were never talking to Ubisoft in the first place. It was just a time buying tactic to calm those who paid.

I am somewhat sad that it is cancelled cause they have potential to be great and I really wanted the Altair but here is hoping that Ubisoft realized there is a market for 1/6 AC figures.
