My problems with PERS

-Thick eyelids creating shadow that shouldn't be there
-Eyes have tendency to be too big
-Translucent Irises look cartoony
-Access Panels can be unsightly

If these things could be addressed I'd be cool with keeping it. Trouble is does HT even see a problem?

I'm glad that they didn't DX the CR Superman like they were originally gunna do , that woulda been a nightmare.

I'm so glad this figure didn't get the DX treatment. A stunning, stunning figure. Obviously, no one knows how it would have turned out, but I agree, it probably would have been ruined by PERS.

I feel that the figures that came out desent with pers would have come out excellent without pers. Thats my whole point, it adds a gimic and the sculpt suffers, weather it suffers badly like indy, or suffers moderatly like the dx10 or weather it suffers slightly like bruce, the point is they all suffer.

I agree to a point, though I think PERS done well can enhance the range of expression of a figure. I look at the Bruce sculpt and don't see it being any better for having painted eyes instead of the PERS. In fact I think painted eyes on a Bruce Lee figure dramatically reduces the posing options. I would have a similar take on Jack Sparrow, except I have had that figure in the same pose since new. I don't own any of the DX Jokers yet, but these seem more 'fun' for their having PERS also.

I think all these figures would suffer without PERS. You just couldnt get that final 10% of their personality without pers and non pers would cut posing options in half. These are just a few examples from forum users and there are many many more. Aside from slight accuracy issues these are 3 of the best sculpts Ive ever seen and all are DX. I say bring on more DX just more perfect like these figures.

DX. They just come with so much more for display and generally look more deluxe.

It helps that they're mostly iconic characters with better longevity than the trending licenses

PERS isn't the best but it's knly part of what makes a DX.

No poll? Thread fail!

MMS are cheaper and have better sculpts without PERS. It's really no contest. I don't own any DXs and don't plan on doing so.

while i enjoy the novelty of the moveable eyes, for me, i simply prefer the freedom of the heads that are not limited by having a sculpted neck.

reduces the articulation too much for me.

I only own one DX, The T800 figure. The PERS wasn't the selling point to be honest, the amount of accessories was. If I wasn't bothered about the minigun or the badolier I'd have gone for the MMS T800. The PERS is a really good feature, but I display him with the sunglasses, so it's actually pretty pointless.

I have a Jack Sparrow arriving soon so I might change my mind, but as of right now unless I can find a DX for the same price as an MMS I doubt I'll be buying any more.

Agreed - & that's the crux basically.

Some could've done without it - sure. Keaton? Awesome. Jack Joker? Doubly awesome. Same with DX04 Bruce Lee, Sparrow, & Bespin Luke.

All great. :lecture

I'm waiting in anticipation to see how the DX13 BD Arnold turns out - it could go either way for that one. I thought the last DX Arnold looked wrong.

Possibly the only DX figure I'd be sorely tempted to pay £200 for, nearly pulled the trigger a few times but, even with everything he comes with, £200 is still just too much, even for a DX.

If you really like it man, then go for it. They won't be getting much cheaper. :lol

I just bought the Tamashii C-3PO - not cheap, but an unbelievable piece.

Unbelievable. :)

Opposite for me, I'd prefer a sculpted neck all the time. The only articulation you lose is the ability to tilt the head without also tilting the neck. I can easily live without that if it means no ugly gaps and seams.

Besides which, not all PERS figures have sculpted necks anyway - much to my regret in the case of DX10.

Ah, I get you. :lol

I've been replacing all my 117s with the DX10 heads and bodies. I will possibly be listing a bunch of MMS heads for sale soon. I'll keep at least one for 'historical' purposes!
