What are the chances of a Hot Toys Nolan-verse Ra's Al Ghul?

Alfred and Fox may have good actors and well-written parts, but they don't have short films devoted to them the way Coulson has. And the reason Coulson has that is because Marvel recognized the unexpected popularity Coulson has and took advantage of that.

i don't disagree with anything you've said about the whys and wherefores of two-packs and cult-favoritism, but this statement about "short films" is sort of chicken/egg. nolan controls the property with an iron fist. even if wb wanted him spinning crap out like marvel does, he' refuse to do it. and you don't cook the golden goose.

batman fans can be just as rabid about lucius and alfred as marvel fans are of fury and coulson. the marketing machine is a whole 'nother story. it probably has influence here, but it's a wonky argument to say that "extras" like a short film is proof of anything.

I don't see why people think Alfred or Lucius are so unlikely yet Hot Toys has made two characters from The Avengers (Coulson and Fury) who aren't exactly main characters but apparently Hot Toys has enough faith that they'll sell. Alfred and Lucius were a fairly big part of The Dark Knight Trilogy that I think they'd sell.

This is one great Iminime work.

I don't think you guys understand the point of a 2-pack.

The purpose isn't to take two, relatively unpopular figures, package them together, and suddenly they're more popular. Such a product would actually tank much harder than selling them individually.

The purpose of a 2-pack is to take one relatively unpopular figure and piggyback it on another, much more popular figure.

The Nolan line has had one such 2-pack, Bat-Demon/Scarecrow.

Scarecrow was a relatively popular figure, demanded by people who wanted the villains from "Batman Begins" and a good rogues gallery for Batman. But almost no one wanted a Bat-Demon, and certainly not enough to justify a normal release.

The 2-pack was a brilliant business move for Hot Toys, though - sell almost twice as many total units, including a cheaply-produced Bat-Demon, by packaging them together.

Some people who otherwise may have bought an individual Scarecrow may not have bought the 2-pack, but a hell of a lot more people bought the 2-pack than the number of people who would have bought a standalone Bat-Demon. So by selling a few less Scarecrows, but a LOT MORE Bat-Demons than otherwise, the 2-pack probably ended up almost doubling Hot Toys' potential income on those two figures.

Now while a few people might buy an Alfred, or a Lucius, neither would be enough to justify a standalone release, and so piggybacking wouldn't only fail, it would actually backfire.
I admit my line of thinking about the two pack of Lucius and Alfred is probably wrong and would have lower potential sales overall. Still though I think the characters would go over well enough if they were placed in a two pack with a more popular character. For instance if they did a two pack of an Alfred and maybe an official Bruce or something along those lines I could see it working. I think the series has enough fandom that people would buy it.

I mean hell they're making the camo tumbler which isn't even that significant to the films overall and has to cost more to produce than a single figure. Even Demon Batman, as much as I think is a cool figure and plan to get him eventually only appeared for all of under a minute in Batman Begins but Hot Toys took a chance on releasing him.

I was looking for that thread - why was it deleted? :dunno
Copywriting things. (c)
Admins always deletes threads if some claims happens. And it's OK, we have to keep some reasonable compromise.
The Iminime "Space Trucker" Al1 Ellen thread have been deleted too.

What you don't understand is the underground, cult fan appeal that Fury and Coulson have. They're not major characters, but like an unpredictable internet meme, they've tapped into the fan consciousness and achieved an unexpected level of popularity. (In addition, Fury has a level of visual flashiness that the others do not have).

Alfred and Fox may have good actors and well-written parts, but they don't have short films devoted to them the way Coulson has. And the reason Coulson has that is because Marvel recognized the unexpected popularity Coulson has and took advantage of that.

Similarly, Hot Toys recognizes the same and is taking advantage of it as well.

Exactly this.

Oh yeah fair enough, that's actually quite true.

With Bane and Catwoman preordered and finding the parts to easily bash a John Blake, I thought I'd revisit this guy. I got that Head Play head but could never sculpt the goatee. I just did that today.

I have it on a SSC Buck with the Saturday Toys suit and Joker gloves. I just need a black shirt which isn't at all easy to come by. I tried to dye a white one when i figrst got this head and it turned purple/gray). I also need shoes and material for a scarf. How did everyone make the sword came? Any reference pics?
