Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: Chitauri Footsoldier

I hope HT realizes the key to selling these will be a low price. Keep them $150 or less and people could easily buy 2 or more. Any higher and people may just get 1 or completely pass. HT has kept their clones under $100 for several years now. Only the Commanders cost more than that. Heck you can get 2 battle droids for $120!

Exactly what I'm saying. At the right price, I want 3. At $200+, I'll skip it entirely. They'll make more money with a reasonable price and volume.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: Chitauri Footsoldier

is this a rubber suit with no joints I can't tell

Thats just a raw sculpture they're showing off. They haven't articulated it yet. I imagine they'll make it very much like the Hulk and their other muscle bodied figures.

But yeah, I really hope HT realizes they can make much MORE money if they charge much LESS for these. They are meant for army building and to do that, they need to be reasonably priced. People will buy a lot more than they would if they were $200+ each. But I have a feeling HT won't see the logic. I mean Bane is $195 and comes with less than Fury. Coulson is probably going to be $200+ too :slap

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: Chitauri Footsoldier

I also agree about the price point. Reduce our costs somewhat and I'll buy duplicates. At the normal $200? 1 is enough for me!

Now that we have this coming and Coulsen, I'm now hoping for a Banner and Hill!

YES!!!

Will buy two to make an epic base for AVE Cap.

The son of Coul would be awesome at $159, but I won't buy him at $200+.

I think $130 is probably the most I would pay for this guy. Be cool to have but not needed in my collection at all.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: Chitauri Footsoldier

This figure may not be $200, but its not going to be under $150 either. Just because the character isn't as important as most others, doesn't make the the cost less. Plus, we have no idea what this will come with or how detailed the outfits/armor will be.

Should be like 2 figures for 150 dollars... I think this is gonna be an easy pass for me...

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: Chitauri Footsoldier

This and coldson are basically taking away from other lines, no matter how much people like these, they in no way should take the place of a main character of another license, and that is whats happening since those main characters haven't been shown made but these have.

Like more TDKR figures. :monkey3

Seriously, how would you know that these figures are taking the place of other characters from different lines?

Who's to say that those characters would have gotten made in the first place?

If Hot Toys wants to make them they will. If they don't... :dunno

I was thinking 2 for $200 but $150 sounds better to me.

They should do waht sideshow did with the Battle-Droids, do a two-pack for a reasonable price rather than turn people away with a stupidly high price.

I was saying this exact same thing in the coulson thread. And they can't expect people to pay the same price for this figure as for Thor, Black Widow, Nick Fury etc...

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: Chitauri Footsoldier

Just wait for these to go up for Pre-order. For now we don't know with any certainty what the price will be.

Coulson I could see going for lower than normal given that he's really just a guy in a suit. The footsoldier though looks like a brand new body with some intricate detailing. I don't expect it to be very cheap.

What the footsoldier does have going for it in my opinion is visual appeal. It's different and it'll probably look amazing even though it isn't a main character.

Yep, because the while the extremely die hard fans may go for it, the casual fan (especially those who don't have obscene sums of money to throw away on toys and have to budget), will simply say: :pfft:
