I didn't see the moderators post, as the page hadn't updated yet, and I just think it's ridiculous to say that someone is trolling when they call you up on how this even affects you, but I digress, let's leave it alone now.

Since you intentionally overlooked their posts to continue trolling...:
Enough, EVERYONE.

This is a highly desired figure and a very frustrating topic, it will get heated.

Like it or not, the mess with DX02 is going to spill over into here, people are excited about HT figures but fed up with the QC issues and lack of customer care. People who don't own this figure but want to or similar ones in the future have as much at stake to watch this thread and see where this leads.

Stay focused on discussing the figure/problem/company and stop taking shots at each other.

From this post on, any post having nothing to do with the topic and about another member or members will be infracted, there's no need for this behavior.
I'm with DiFabio here, everything nam or I or anyone else skeptical about the oil situation here has said has been with a common purpose in mind: to make sure people we find out the extent of the problem, to make sure those who are new to HT are aware of their past record on rubber, and to try and get HT to acknowledge there may be a problem here and to do something about it.

Yeah nam has more posts than anyone in this thread, and yeah, i'm no.2 on that list. And yes, neither of us own the figure. You know why? Because we're playing it safe! Both of us want the figure, just not before we're sure its problem free.

It's all right there. I can increase the font size if needed. :lol

I didn't intentionally overlook the posts, the site hadn't updated yet, but believe what you want, I'm ending this conversation.

I have the DCU DX02 Batman with the plastic abs, and that didn't start leaking until a year in. It still leaks a tiny bit from time to time. Just got DX09 and it's completely clean. I will check regularly, but for now, no problems.

Time stamps on the posts you quoted prove otherwise. :wink1:

THIS! :lecture:lecture:lecture:exactly:

This seems to be the biggest issue. Too many are quick to dismiss that very fact not understanding that, "I've owned mine since February. You guys are making an issue out of nothing." is completely irrelevant. ATM, it's too soon to tell anything. The poll in the DX02 thread proves that.

I had some leaking on the DX02 - but it's only noticeable if you're looking for it intently and it doesn't effect the look, posability or coolness of the figure. It seems it's even less of an issue with this one as there is no paint to be wiped off if you wipe the oil.

Not to criticize anyone, but it seems to be making an mountain out of a molehill to give so much attention to this minor issue.

Timestamps on the posts you quoted say otherwise. :wink1:

Timestamps don't tell you everything, did it even occur to you that maybe I started my post, but didn't finish it? As I said, leave it alone.

When's the last time you checked him?

The extent of the leaking varied greatly. One of mine leaks to this day and the undersuit is pretty much disintegrated. I have to wipe it down at least once a week.

:wave

Still dry.

At this point, I'm willing to consider that the mystery goop might have been related to the magnet glue/tape situation OR to the glue used to attach the belt buckle itself. A buckle, by the way, that I just managed to snap off due to the constant opening/closing of said belt looking for the reappearance of the phantom oil. HT's glue really does blow.

I'm sure I'll be (apparently, very gingerly) checking behind his belt from time to time but I'm pretty much done worrying about it. Whatever it was that was going on with my figure, it's looking more and more like a one-time occurrence.

Even for me, a self confessed new comer to these forums, this was easily the best thread here (IMO of course!) but it just seems to have degenerated into name calling and trolling and counter trolling.

It's not required folks, it really is not. What it is, is a great shame.

Yes. Thankfully we have mods and an admin who all came in, corralled the wild horses, and got the thread back on track. So that's where we are now. Bringing it back up is not required either. Not sure what you were hoping to accomplish. :Calling fellow board members "uppity, smart mouthed, trolls" is in itself trolling. Ironic, I know. :lecture

I still have my Batman on order. I won't cancel mine, but it is a bit of a gamble to spend $240 on a something that could turn to goop. I decided to err on the side of optimism, rather than the side of caution this time. Hopefully I won't regret that.

Well as I was a part of it...I was actually including myself in there too!

OK then.

I have just received word from my UK supplier that my second DX09 has arrived :yess:

...But I cannot actually get it until next weekend! :thud: :panic:

in other words another......ten days before I can get my hands on him! :impatient: But rest assured, as soon as I get to him, I shall examine and post here, an update to the figures' figures.

It will actually be around the time that my final DX08 JOKER-flex is charged to my accound. Some kind of synchronicity there I am sure.

Alter Ego charged my expired card for Batman and I have to give them new payment info within 72 hours. Guess I'll go through with it. What the hell, right?

Because you're incapable of actually adding anything relevant to this thread, let alone an intelligent response to my reply, right? :dunno

You assume it warrants one.

This is my one and only comment about the Hellboy figure because (1) it's OT, and (2), the only reason I posted it was to comment that not every rubber body figure from Hot Toys has problems (and I also know as a original DX02 owner with leaky abs that problems do exist), especially relevant to this thread when so many have posted concerns about rubber parts of HT figures.

Clearly, if you owned the figure and tried to bend those elbow or shoulder joints you would feel resistance and to push beyond those limits would most likely invite damage to the figure.

Should Hot Toys included some sort of disclaimer saying not to do so?
With many figures they in fact do...specifically with the Big Chap they noted in the instructions not to exceed "x" amount of degrees of bending the legs or hips lest you risk possible damage.

Did they include the same warning with Hellboy? I don't remember. But common sense told me not to push past the point I felt resistance from the suit. Was I upset it was restricted by the rubber suit? Not in the least. Do I need instructions from Hot Toys to tell me not to do so? Not at all...much like I don't need instructions from God to tell me to breathe even though I can't see air, I figured it out for myself.

Now, when I made that post, you jumped in with a rather snide comment of "bend it at the elbows for 6 months & see what happens". Unnecessary, uncalled for, irrelevant & unproductive, which, from my POV, is your usual MO....and the very definition of trolling.

And when anyone comes back at you, inevitably you run crying to the mods like a little girl screaming "He's trolling! He's trolling!"...again, from my observations, is another instance of your usual MO.

Now, to my simple reply of the dismissive wank image, I simply copied another of your frequent tactics, which is to reply to comments you take exception to with some sort of comical and sarcastic image.

I always find it to be an interesting observation of character to see the reaction of someone who dishes out so much and how well they take it when it gets dished to them.

Our little exchange was very interesting. Thank you and have a pleasant evening. :)
