Ok so what are we up to now?

1. Put acrylic matte varnish on belt and buckle

and/or

2. Remove tape that holds in magnet and super glue it instead.

or

3. Do nothing.

Coat it in Vaseline, strip naked, put Batman in the center of the floor, spray varnish or 303 on your nethers and do a rain dance to Tim Burton's juice.

Quick update: Still no oil residue on the figure, but my 'nads have started to shrink.

The former is good news. The latter is often a symptom of toy collecting.

I'd recommend everyone that's freaking out and canceling their orders to just sit back and see how the situation develops before doing so. There's simply not enough information out there to warrant a cancellation.

Damn . . . a voice of reason on these boards?

I thought such things had long since left this planet . . . :bow

Is that anything like Michael Jackson's Jesus Juice?

Jesus juice is merely a crosslinked polymer chain consisting of hydrogen and carbon atoms linked in a continuous gyration of billie jean molecules within a caramel thriller compound, which plasticizes the endocrine system and creates a neverland space inside the matrix of the belt buckle.

Beat it.

It's simple.

:horror

What the hell is 303?

And where....is my Batman?

so have any of you actually emailed HT about this? All I read is a lot of ranting about the problem and hoping there's a fix for it.

Flipping heck!!

I posted threads on both their "Hot Toys" FB page and their FB "Hot Toy Community" page, which I actually expressed several pages back!

I also reported that mine, on inspection and after several changes in temperature and humidity (from the USA to the UK), was residue and oil free! So the number of people with 'no problems' status is now at least 20.

I don't know if it's that this forum is so snobby and elitist that you pretty much ignore posts from noobs with less than a certain post-count, even though when I first registered there were a thread/posts about not being too hard on new members, but if that's the case then you fellows need a serious rethink!

But despite the snob/elite/superiority complex attitudes on display, it is clearly obvious that you enjoy posting and then endlessly re posting the same Off-Topic, pointless, patently unfunny 'funny animal' photos, again and again, ad infinitum...which adds nothing to the thread except more pointless pages (and boosting your personal post tallies) and has the nett result of just making this helpful and beneficial thread very difficult to follow.

A bit less of the 'Old Boys Club' short-sightedness if you please.

What you fail to comprehend, is people are just having fun. Now isn't that what a hobby is about? Sometimes people get to serious and it helps to let of a little steam. As far as anything being 'helpful and beneficial' it's too early as this figure hasn't been out long enough to really make a determination on the problem, let alone a solution. So untangle your undergarment and either join the party or freely find some other place to play.

You have to read to find out what's going on, in anything. Who'd thought of that.

Charming...

I posted the problem on HT's FB page the day this thread was created, others have posted too.

Yes, thankfully more people are problem free than there are people with problems, but the :panic: stems from the fact that from past experience, the oil may show up a while down the road, at which point no Customer Service from HT or your dealer is likely to help you. So there's an element of risk in buying this figure right now in my opinion - a risk i'm not willing to take for a figure that at the end of the day, I don't view as a must have.

With regards to the animal pics - many of us find it funny, so you will probably have to get used to it, not trying to be snobby, but just saying it's just a very common feature of this board for topics to descend into animal pics and memes once the topic is getting a little stale and there's lack of new information.

Well... i have done some research that may be interestin for some people, even if it`s leaking or not to improve the life of the figure...
It`s very know among collectors the reations between ruber and othe plastics... so try to isolate them with anything you want...
You also could use some "preservers" for the cracks and the drying of the rubber.
Any silicone based and petroleum solvent free may do the trick... even i read some collectors that use wd40... but i don't know...
303 is a wather based (and silicone i think) with a uv filter. time and uv are the enemyes of the ruber :p
so 303 should work nice against those... but it will not isolate the diferent plastics on the figure.
Never put the figure on direct sunlight
the rubber needs to breath... Don't let it inside the box
I have read thet some people put they rubber figures on the freezer for 40 minutes every month to slow down the rubber deterioration. sound crazy but those people
own rubber figures for 20 + years
