Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

Sweatbeads on all those sculpts sounds like it's going to be alot of work.
Figure looks great though.

Yes exactly. Also takes away from the hatless version which would become a redundant sculpt if hatted sculpt had sweat beads.

So difficult

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

So the little cup is essentially the golden ticket of this figure, hmm not sure how I feel about that, I know it's a small little thing and it's not really relevant to this look but first no sweat beads on the standard sculpt and now the possibility some of us might not even get the cup?:(

Edit: I misread that, cup is is a standard part of the full sets but not the clothing and head sets, nevermind what I said above I'm happy with that now!:)

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

nontheless amazing work. as some said at first that Wyatt should have been the one made, I don't think so. Yea history wise more people know the name Wyatt Earp over Doc Holiday, but how well Val played that role he out shined everyone.
can some one please post a link to rainmans website? i'd greatly appreciate it.
my favorite quote is right after he shoots Ringo " You're no daisy! You're no daisy at all. Poor soul, you were just too high strung.......
It would appear that the strain was more than he could bear."

I understand it's probably a difficult effect to paint but he obviously knows how important it is to the character, I mean he did photoshop it into this pic. Anyway maybe I can commission another artists to add the effect later down the line if it's not to costly, on another note I think I will give my Sarah conner cig to the Doc!:)

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

People were adding sweat to the Hot Toys Indiana Jones (Indy customizations thread) they looked really good.

That picture looks just like Val Kilmer. Wow!

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

Very much excited to get this piece. Looking at that pic though, I wish the fullset has sweaty beads...even if its subtle.
Regardless, looking forward to get this.

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

Are the rest of those photos somewhere else? Logged into RMs site and didn't see them, the ones finished with the duster that is?

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

i think this looks really amazing so far - we'll see if it rivals bill the butcher (but don't think it will).

i'm just a bit baffled by some of the accessory choices as some of you are. the cup is great but doesn't match the scene, and neither does a hatless head. the full set head also doesn't really look sick enough for the scene, even if sweat beads aren't possible. if you're a purely display guy like me (and not really into limited edition), there's less of an incentive to go for full or DX.

if the full set head were painted a bit more sickly looking however:

There is no more as of yet, that one above in my post I got from Rainmans blog which can be accessed trough his site.

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

Question about ordering. If I prefer to paint the head myself, do I add an unpainted head and then separately add the outfit set? I ask because the head+outfit sets are more expensive, presumably because the head is painted?

Yes that is what you do.:) I think I will pick up and extra unpainted head while I'm at it to have it painted differently at a later date.

I know that with The Man with No Name, Rainman offered a unpainted head and clothes set.

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

Ok I have just spoke with Rainman after seeing the email.

I must admit to looking at the pictures and wondering how come one of the pics showed a sweating sickly Doc with hat.

This was just a photoshop manip.

So just to clarify for rainman;

The standard set will come with head + hat (no sweat beads)

The DX set will come with the above + a hatless sculpt with sweat beads.

Hope that clears it up :wink1:

What weapons are we looking at again?

I think he matched the skin tone pretty well.

The hat less version- could use a hat. Maybe a removable one.
