Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 announcement!

A 1/6 Donna Noble wouldn't just kill the line, it would kill the hobby.

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 announcement!

Donna is my least favourite New Who companion, wouldn't want her either. If I'd buy any companions it would be Amy, River, Rose, Martha, Jack. I'd really like Idris but in the minority with that as usual so don't think we'll get her. Doesn't have to be 1/6 though, maybe they could make her in the Dynamix line, I dunno, just want an Idris figure and I'm not gonna take the one from CO.

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 announcement!

I wouldn't mind Donna, but if I don't have at least 3 Doctors and Amy and Rose in my collection first I will be BOVVERED!

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 announcement!

Thye best thind that they could do right now is announce the Tom Baker or Jon Pertwee.

That would generate massive interest from Classic Who Fans in the line.

They better do it quick too from what I hear there's soon to be a 10 inch scale Classic announcement from UT/CO

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 announcement!

I've got the 10 inch 11th Doctor.

I laughed.

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 announcement!

The 10-inch 11th is pretty blah looking (especially compared to the nice 12'' figures CO was putting out circa series 3) so I don't think there's anything to fear. Also, they are for completely different markets and price points.

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 announcement!

They're nice for what they are, but they're so.. pre-school. I'm a completionist, I buy pretty much everything related to Doctor Who. But either way, it's nice for it's price point and who it's marketed for, but it's comedy-size bow tie and coat makes him look like a clown in his free time.

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 announcement!

I wonder what they did at Cards Inc? Their 3 3/4Harry Potter line was much underrated and completely awesome.

A few things about the interview:

- I didn't realize they had worked at Cards, Inc. and Popco. I wonder if they had a hand in the wonderful—and sadly overlooked—Golden Compass line.

- I didn't realize the company was just a few people and some freelancers. Very impressive.

- Wooden boxes! Wooden boxes! In.... wood... oh that'd be amazing.

- Good for them for keeping on top of the standards of the factory. It's a good sign for a company to keep an eye on such things as it makes you think they are watching the details.

- As for the Daleks... go with the standard Dalek from the 9/10 years... I think that's a safe place to start.

- 4 a year sounds good. 6 wouldn't be bad. But I know it's baby steps.

- I wonder if their bodies will have a head sculpt or just be the body?

A few other notes: I'd love a Donna! I think there are quite a few people who would want a Donna. Enough to make it worthwhile? Well, not so sure.

We were indeed the design team behind Harry Potter order of the pheonix range, golden compass as well! We also designed all the Doctor who, star wars and lord of the rings cookie jars not to mention the whole gift lines for star wars, potc and golden compass and also the statue range, bookends and cookie jar for Wallace and Gromit, so we have indeed got around lol

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 announcement!

The 10" Eleventh Doctor is in a completely different market, because it's in the mass market, but if UT did make a 10" Tom Baker that market would overlap with BC's - hardly anything frm the classic line is sold in mainstream toy shops like TRU.

Who fans who aren't really 1/6 Collectors but want a Tom Baker figure with soft goods - maybe reminding them of the old Denys Fisher figures - would see the 10" Classic Doctors in FP and buy them as a cheaper alternative.

I'd love it if BC did a Tom figure in retro packaging.

Awesome - I'm not into cookie jars but I thought the Potter figures were superb - on a slightly technical note, they had the best balljointed shoulders ever! I also loved the Daniel Craig for the golden compass and made a fab Bond custom using the body from a 3 3/4 Henry Jones Senior figure, from Hasbro's short lived Indiana Jones line.

It's a shame the Quantum of Solace line was never picked up - that looked great too. What happened there, or can you not say?

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 announcement!

I'm pretty much strictly a NuWho fan, but I'd buy Adrick before Donna.

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 announcement!

As a new company we are all to well aware of the danger of announcing too much too soon, especially as we have not yet actually released a product. All too often products are announced that never see the light of day and we do not want to fall into that trap. All we can say is that our license covers both the current and classic series and that we are currently researching and gathering the necessary reference for the next classic release in the run up to the 50th anniversary. News and updates for this release will be fourth coming soon...
