Not sure if I'd get a RWOS PF. That thing would be huge!

As for a maquette version of ML, someone needs to persuade me why that needs revisiting, as the previous SS/W incarnation what already awesome to begin with. What exactly would SS improve upon? I can see where the already released maquettes improved on the faces, but with the ML being faceless . . . I'm not sure I need to blow more money on this.

Its a different line. If this was the old SSW line the revisiting remarks would make sense. Otherwise not so much.

The pose.......

Ok, so Arwen and Gimli coming soon. Boromir on the horizon. Faramir, Eomer, maybe Mouth of Sauron and a Prologue Elven Warrior down the pike...?

Sounds good to me. If this is the case, this line will be off to a great start, and I can see people really trying to chase down the early pieces later on, especially with the low edition sizes.

I was thinking something else from that sequence.

Just after he's getting up from the fallen Fell Beast. Kind of standing straight but half turned. Sort of ominous.

That could happen the ES are staying low which I do think is a good thing as it will help drive the wanting for pieces down the road. Thus helping the line.

Question : Will you ever offer a Haldir figure/statue?

Answer : Haldir is not on the top of our list of characters to do, nor even at the top of the list of Elfen characters to do. We have a greater interest in other Elf designs from a purely aesthetic point of view, including and especially the Elfen warriors that appear in the prologue sequence, and Elrond himself. However, it may be that one day, fervor and enthusiasm from the fans push us to produce a Haldir statue.

Well this Q&A should lay to rest any doubts as to whether the PEW sneak peak is a PF or maquette. :lecture

haha, the funny thing is, i was going to post it yesterday too!! :panic:

I was too bummed after reading the Haldir comment :(, but word that PEW and Elrond maquettes are on the way is excellent news nonetheless. :)

I'm hoping for a robed Elrond this time...... i think that's the image we most see in our heads. Plus we already have a perfectly good Elrond in armour. We need a robed version! Unless we get one with The Hobbit statues...

By the sounds of it, it looks like SS are more interested in the prologue version, but I do agree a robed version is definently needed.

I highly doubt we will see a Prologue Elrond maquette. So far, SS has provided characters in different costuming wherever possible and as noted, an armoured Elrond has been done before. I fully expect we will see Elrond in his "council" attire. No other outfit captures the "essence" of Elrond both as ruler of Rivendell and leader of the fellowship council, more than that one.

Elrond too? Nice. I really hope the characters that SS they are planning, truly make it to release.

I have very high hopes for this line now.

Yeah, but how are they going to put him into a super-hero pose in that gear? :rotfl

That council attire is more of a PF project IMHO.

The Prologue Elrond is more suited to the Maquette line...even though SSW did it before...but SS can do it better.

An Elrond in meeting attire would look really great. Its one I will wait to make up my mine one way or the other until we see something more concrete. I would love to see another Prologue Elrond with a different pose though.

Really? Have you owned the SSW version?

You're probably right, but a Prologue Elrond would contradict what SS has done so far within the maquette line. Seems to me they have deliberately tried to avoid portraying characters in the same manner done previously by Weta. Obviously there's not much they could have done differently [costume-wise] in regard to Strider, GTG, or Gimli, but they certainly did provide alternate attire for Legolas, Arwen, and Boromir. Even in the instances of Strider and GTG where they couldn't really do much, they did add Strider's hood and Gandalf's crystal staff to the sculpts. Not to mention, they went with significantly different poses than those of the SSW versions. Besides, at the turtle-like speed of 2 PF's/year none of us may be around long enough to see an Elrond PF, if and when SS decides to produce one. :lecture

I think the tendancy so far has been to brand the maquette line as one which portrays the characters in "action" poses when really it is more about capturing the "essence" of the character. Certainly characters such as Legolas and Gimli are portrayed that way, but how else are you going to portray those two while trying capturing their essence other than as the warriors they are? Both "came alive" when in battle. When they weren't in battle, Legolas had the personality of a carboard box, and Gimli was the comic relief.

And I don't think anyone would look at Strider or Arwen and categorize those as action poses. Like I said earlier, if SS is trying to capture the "essence" of these characters then a warrior version of Elrond doesn't work for me...I'd still buy one without the slightest hesitation mind you, but that to me is a very minor aspect of Elrond's character. I see him more as an elder statesman, a mediator of sorts, and a concerned, heartbroken father...not so much as a warrior.
