Okay, well a couple of you guys just lost all credibility for me.

Tatum is shot down in the same scene he appears in, 10 minutes into the film, and has one whole line. That hardly seems fit to ruin an entire movie if you ask me. That annoying ass Nation's Pride 'actor' that DOES NOT GO AWAY from the entire second and third acts of IB however, made the film nearly unwatchable. He reminded me of the jackass older brother from Step Brothers. In fact, I was wondering if it was the same guy, doing the same performance.

And there is nothing wrong with Mann's camera work. He could take QT to school. Listen to a commentary from each filmmaker. The sheer level of thought and design put into each of Mann's films, characters, scenes, and arks is just staggering, where as Tarintino seems to have less values to share and rests on his popular image. Again, I'm a fan of both filmmakers, but back me up into a corner, and Pulp Fiction is no match for Heat, just as IB is none for PE.

And the digital stock, is just a stylistic choice. Might not be for everyone, but I rather enjoy his bold attempts to show me a film that looks different, and sets it apart from the pack. Again, a choice, kind of like IB's lead barely being in this snooze fest, or the whole plot revolving around something different every five scenes until it just ends on the only satisying moment since the last time we saw Pitt being a Basterd, which was about two hours ago at the front of the film.

Differing opinions are fine, but some of you are starting to get a little playground for me.

I'm about done with this ignorant thread. The figure is weak anyway.

The funny thing is, I love film, and in a lot of ways I know Mann is a directors director. He's smart, he uses every trick in the book, he has his own colour palette, he has a distinct way of working from the ground up and he's demanding of his actors... He is a true auteur!
However, so is Tarantino he tends to break rules more than follow them, he has more of a punk attitude.
If critiquing on a purely artistic level then the chin strokers would always give Mann the Palme d'Or, but in terms of movies that sear an indelible imprint on your brain, then for me, Tarantino takes the gold.
Neither are my favourite directors by a country mile. But both are very relevant to the current cinematic trends, and both have made important films.
I'm just glad they are both making movies, it makes life better for us all.

I'm also glad Picasso and Dali made great paintings... but who did the better paintings?

Depends who you ask. I was always a Van Gogh guy myself.

Well spoken post. I disagree, but feel my views respected at the same time. Thank you. :rock

Are you happy with the headsculpt, bud? Becuase I know you were really waiting on this one.

Eh not completely happy with it. he looks to young and not quite right. i think the expression is blah, the one alex lopez did is much better imo. But im still getting this. im hoping hot toys will modify the sculpt like they did with marcus wright.

I would have preferred the smirk sculpt too - but I don't think anyone can deny this likeness is fantastic. And it's very reminiscent of the speech in the beginning, which is probably what they were going for. I'm sure they started this before the poster image with Pitt with his chin out became so iconic. And they said in the newsletter that this was the toughest likeness approval they every went through - which means that a second or substitute head is unlikely, because they'd have to do it all over again.

But I like it, and the overall figure quite a bit. I just hope he's not the only character from the film we get.

As for the film - I mentioned it in the previous thread, but I really want to hate every QT movie that comes out, just because of his public persona. But Pulp Fiction is in my top ten movies of all time. I didn't like Death Proof and I don't like Reservoir Dogs. But I absolutely loved Kill Bill (it's just one film - ask Quentin) and IB. Comparing Michael Mann to QT is like comparing Tony Scott to Ridley Scott. They are both good, but one is so obviously superior to the other.

for me, the sculpt kinda went from looking sad coz he had too many strange kids running around, to confused coz he can't remember their names.

"uhh, sanchez, viagra.... waikiki, umbongo, ted turner, um.... undertaker, shazam and uh ..... zangief? it's dinner time!"

still, i'm thinking HT will announce some bonus at some stage, to keep the punters interested. and 100% agreed, alex's head sculpt looks better.

Yeah, Alter Ego.
He's up at BBTS now, as well, for those interested. I always preorder there as a safety as there is no fee for cancelling. And don't worry, that is not the final price. They'll adjust it once they recieve MSRP, usually to whatever Toys2 is charging.

I would gather AlterEgo.

I call BS on that one, since even for Yulli it only takes her in some cases just two weeks to finnish a sculpt, IB was anounced awhile ago now and the movie was just as over hyped then as it is now, its not the "trademark" handy looking face everyone loves but, its a nice look and will work better when posed with guns drawn. Its just another case like HT Thriller MJ for some people, in a sense.

Correction: Its up for PO @ Toysquare for 145.

My bad, Guys. Point is 145 is the price point @ TS.

And although I'm not getting this, I think it's an amazing Rep of Pitt as that Character. Considering it went through like 10 approvals, it may have been Pitt Himself who wanted this Sculpt Expression.

Ha! Defeated. Owned. Pwned whatever. Fact of the matter is, Film >>>> Digital Histroy Channel Documentary style.

And I love how you deciede to troll the thread, Insult people, and then back out like you're the villian.

Not liking the movie is fine. But you have to express yourself the correct way...well...unless you're not gonna back down, and continue arguging.

Nah. From where I'm standing you're more of the troll here, and not worth the effort anyway.

And I didn't insult anyone.

This is going to be like Leonidas with HT dropping a second "iconic" sculpt at the last minute. :lol

This figure looks amazing day 1 pre-order for me.Also,I agree with devil and am surprised that nobody thought this.If sideshow is distributing outside of asia,I'm willing to bet that the iconic "smirk" is the exclusive.

I see tons of threads about films i don't like and figures I have zero interest in buying, guess what? i don't post in those threads. it's a simple rule i wish people would follow.
