I bet the HT P1 predator will have a mustache aswell. Must be causing the delay.

Nope, that's about $$$. While I personally think the Predator collector base for HT will buy Predators from then whenever, no matter what as long as they look badass, HT may be thinking with Aliens and Predators, better release all the less than desired versions first and cash in as much as possible their, then release the most desired one from each property. Depending on how far they go, we may see all of the lost P2 Predators before a P1.

:rolleyes:I doubt that

Yeah it was more like a JOKE!:lol.

There is a easy way for HT to produce a Dutch figure (i think). It's simple really. Just produce muddy Dutch. They will have to sculpt some mud-like substance on his face. If they do that and not just paint the mud on, i'm sure the likeness is obscured enough. That would be a good idea.

I wouldn't be surprised if Hot Toys released accurate P1 sculpts in their military line. They don't seem to have problems with actor's likeness in that line (since they aren't advertised as the actors). Two birds with one stone.....buy P1 Dutch for the body + equipment...buy military figure featuring Arnold likeness for Dutch head.

Here are some examples...not a perfect likeness but but better than mustached figures.

Except it seems like most of the military figures have sculpted necks, where the muscle body, like the current ones, should feature a ball joint at the top of the neck for the head to attach to. HT would have to make a military figure with Arnold's head using head and neck separated method in order to pull this off.

I might email my idea later today to HT:

It's not like it is such a brilliant idea but it is a great way to get around the likeness problem.

Where did you get the idea that Hot Toys may not have had good reference images of Heath as the Joker? Of course they did. They would have had the best reference material, direct from their licensor. :duh It's a licensed product.

If they listened to their customers they'd stop doing this type of marketing. Hey Hot Toys, yeah you. STOP IT. Don't expect a reaction any time soon. :lol

Being an Artist Yulli seen the Joker moving on screen and just as it is helping Les and the other custom artsits paint there heads she felt after watching the movie she could improve on her sculpt. It was also discussed several times in the original joker thread how hot toys may have not have had much reference .

This was said in the actual newsletter.

The fact is, when our artists YULLI and JC Hong watched The Dark Knight movie, they think there are improvements should be made for the original The Joker collectible figure. After that, they started to re-sculpt two head sculptures of The Joker which perfectly captured his cold stare, his remarkable paints and scars.

Obviously this wont be the case with Dutch and the crew obviously since the movies been out for so long. I was also trying to make the fact hat they didn't have much reference unbelievable.

I said I understand that but come on... it was one of there many excuses for making a better sculpt , not mine.

They wont listen to there customers on this subject because if they did what would make anyone to buy the bank robber if the first version had the awesome sculpt , machine gun and pistol. I wouldn't pay full hot toys price for a gray suit , a bag and a mask.

This is why its annoying with hot toys. Its this kind of crap which is making them loose customers. They won't be loosing my custom though. I can do with having a figure thats not as good as it could be if its one of a kind.
Besides thats where all the customizing fun begins. :banana

Not really...you could still pull out the neck adapter and insert a sculpted neck with head (the true type loose figures are like this.....the head they give you has a sculpted neck but you can pull it out and insert any kind of neck to it). Again it was merely a suggestion what Hot Toys may do....I don't see a lot of collectors doing this for every P1 character.

8th, how is muddy Dutch any different from over camoing his paint apps?

They have to sculp some mud-like texture to his face, not to much, not to little. That will obscure the likeness much better than camo-paint. In some scenes Arnold has a thick layer of mud on his face wich makes him almost unrecognizable. If they would just work with paint for the mud, it wouldn't work ofcourse.

No you can't though. Unless they change neck styles too with this new muscle body, the neck part of the muscular bodies are the rubber mucular part too, you can't change necks like the regular TrueType.

I understand where you're going, just throwing out some thoughts before folks start hoping and counting on HT to do something like this.

I think he meant because it would basically hide the sculpt. Is that allowed ?
Awesome if so. :D

I really want to wait for the second version of this figure but I'm paranoid they wont make one..... even though I know they will. :duh:monkey3:rotfl
