Sad.

Doesn't Dave Mathews Band have like 20 members like Chicago and Dire Straites?

No, DMB still only has a few regulars, LeRoi being one of the co-founders.

DMB is really only:

Dave Matthews (vocals, guitar)
Stefan Lessard (bass)
Carter Beauford (drums)
Boyd Tinsley (violin)
LeRoi Moore (sax)

Butch Taylor has been a regular for the past 10 years or so as well (keyboards), but anyone other than those names have been mostly guest artists. They will often meet up with other well known artists in certain cities to play concerts, such as Warren Haynes in NY or Tim Reynolds in St. Louis, etc.

LeRoi's passing REALLY sucks, those guys were a tight family. I'm really curious to see how this affects things... I'm unapologetically a big Dave fan, I would imagine they'll be writing some emotional stuff for the next album.

I don't like it when bands are named after anyone in the band. Usually means they are arrogant conceded pricks. I am sure Dave is an Ass. He charges people around $100 just to sit in a far away field to see his crappy band. :lol

Not to be a ^^^^, but from the looks of your sig you're hardly one to comment on ^^^^ty bands.

On second thought, I actually am trying to be a ^^^^.

so I like AFI and DMB.
i think we are all allowed to have our own opinions.

:duff

I liked DM first cd, my step mom loves them! They were just through here in OK, my fam went to see them. Sad loss!!

Yeah, and that guy with the throaty voice who dances like a cricket onstage and charges a million dollars so that fans can sit on a far field to see his band is that much better. :lol:lol:rotfl

Im sure Woffard got peeved at someone using a thread meant to mourn the loss of a member to make a comment slamming the band .... cant say it was too cool of a move myself ..... :monkey1

I agree. I think Wofford just got offended that I don't like DMB. Shows that he really isn't secure in his own ghey music tastes. :lol

Reading is fundamental. Refer to post #3. And please don't mention gay when you have a guy with an emo donald comb over and makeup on in your sig.:monkey1

Ahh, he wasn't that great either. I never even heard of him. People die all the time- if you don't personally know them then it really isn't a huge loss. Plus it's on topic, if he was in Dave's ghey band. :lol

Definitely sad to see him pass. I was the concert on the 19 hours after the band heard about his passing. It was a tough, emotional show but definitely a special experience.

They were definitely family and so many of their songs are about death and passing. It gave the songs special meaning that night.

He will be missed.

What, did you graduate College and move out of the Frat house...is that why you stopped listening to DMB? Time to grab your sandals and hit the lawn for some great Dave tunes. :rotfl

Dave matthews is from close to where I live. He was pretty well known here before he made it big. He was also known as a great guy to be around. After hitting it big he's also know to have become a bit of an ass. I have never personally met the guy, but I used to know a few people who "knew him back when".

Nope, he's an asshat for sure. I have seen interviews that he has done and wow, what a ^^^^ing ego. Not humble at all and honestly, he should be because his ^^^^ isn't even good. It's the same crappy jam after another. On top of it all, he names the band after himself and then does a solo album too!!! :rotfl:lol:lol:rotfl

Nope, didn't listen to him in college and wasn't in a frat. Keep trying though, I can only imagine how gay and over compensating you feel you must be right now looking at your sig through your emo bangs and eyeliner.:lol

Cmon now, AFI is pretty damn ghey. Their image alone......the music is another story :lol Well, at least their records get played in Hot Topic :lol

Rock just isnt what it used to be man.
