Hot Toys ROTJ Emperor Palpatine

With regards to posing Palpatine in the throne, how are his sleeves supposed to be placed? Should they be sort of tucked into the seat, or should the hang over the sides?

Over the sides, I think. For some reason, most people seem to be tucking them in though.

He doesn't fit my recently adopted Battle of Hoth focus, but what would have tempted me is a grim expression as opposed to the sinister smile -- or 2 headsculpts. I can only imagine they have other versions planned.

I think the sinister smile would work better on a RotS version, which you know they’re likely planning on doing. Works on this one as well, but I presume they won’t do the exact same facial expression for a second one, and if it was one or the other, it’d work better on RotS in my opinion.

I don't think Hot Toys will ever make another emperor from ROTJ. But now that he is in 9...who knows, he might get an alternate expression that still works for the OT depending on his look in the new movie.

The emperor has arrived and after a bit of futzing, I’m happy with how he is. I do wish the eyes were more yellow than brown but I don’t recall how yellow they were in ROTJ. Apart from my minor nit, he’s outstanding and the chair is also amazing.

Because that’s how I want to pose my stuff...?

He’s a 300 dollar action figure, I want to show off the impressive head sculpt, not hide it behind cheap clothe. To each his own I suppose but I’m happy with how he looks in my collection.

Yeah, but not pulling the hood down just makes the figure look bad. It's your collection, I get that, but it completely ruins the look of the figure

I think its a case of growing up with OT or PT preference. Sculpt is awesome, but for me Palps will always be the hooded badass in RoTJ.
