beware of this recaster selling many statues on ebay

there is a seller from china selling 10 lord of the rings ringwriaths on steed, exactly the same as the sideshow one, same base with markings etc, but under the base its empty, no numbers etc and he claims because these are the special edition lol if everyone complains to ebay about this filfth then they can close his account for copyright infringment and recasting statues.

this is what happens when you move your factory to china but doesnt enforce strict supervision. Guaranteed it's one or more of their local manager level employees working at the SS factory making those in "off hours". On the bright side at least the statue is not inferior quality..

It is so hard to get eBay sales/auctions shut down... One guy was using pics I took of a statue in my house to sell his piece. Ebay didn't care. Another seller was selling a signed Star Wars poster which was issued after Peter Cushing died with his (obviously fake) signature on it, and eBay didn't care. If you don't know your stuff, you can get royally screwed out there.

ebay is pretty relax about reusing someone's picture, but they will take action if the seller is selling fakes because they were getting sued left and right a couple years back.

Everyone should report this seller, he's selling many fakes including the starcraft marine. On the item page just click "report item" and select counterfeit fake, and put the link to the sideshow ringwraith page and submit. Takes <60 sec to complete.

It's not exactly recasting, more like grey market goods.

no they will ban the seller quicker than a comiccon ironman sells out if enough people reports the violation. but apparently noone did.
