Ray Fisher liked a tweet that said ZSJL is an evolution of cinema art while MCU is formula for the masses :slap

Not surprised. Just see the other comments on social media or even a few on here. Very very delusional. Nothing wrong with liking a cringey bad movie, but this thing is being so overblown. It’s at best a D+ movie.

A lot of ZSJL fans I’ve seen are very arrogant, think they know good cinema, I get the sense they think they are better than those who don’t like it, some real full blown nut cases.

I gotta agree. This is the comic book movie that would come closest to getting Martin Scorsese's approval.

Based on what? He would go scorched earth on this film worse than I am :lol

It’s far too long. Far too dark. Plot holes. Terrible music selections. Too much slow-mo. Outdated CGI that looks truly awful at times. Completely odd creepy porny scenes. Some of the reshoots look really bad. Dialogue is very bad. Every character has daddy issues. Very predictable timing of heroes being saved.

This coming from somebody with a Prequel Trilogy themed signature, I would've figured you'd been all over ZSJL like white on a Wampa.:rotfl

Terrible music selections.

One of my few complaints was not enough Zimmer.

Favourite bits were the glimpses of the Knightmare universe:

Again, I’m not sitting here calling the PT a masterpiece and revolutionary epic art like y’all.

Fourth time I’ve had this comment. You guys need to grow up.

Yet again there is no defense, just insulting me or my sig.

So did anyone think adding the Leto Joker scene ( Let’s face it..back in 2017 did they even know Leto was going to be Joker ) was too overkill on Zac’s part .

Has anyone explained why Darkseid doesn't remember the name/location of the only planet that ever beat him that had those smelly motherboxes & also his coveted evil math?
It feels like the biggest plothole I can remember. Like if halfway through a Batman movie Alfred fell down a well and was like I found the Batcave Master Bruce!

Ultimate he didn?t have the Omega Force from Uxas/Drax at this rate who could blame him, steppenwolf had 50,000 planets to conquer, that much scale of things I would forget also haha

Just finished watching it. I liked it a lot. I can certainly understand the issues some folks have with it. Some of the "lists" of issues I've seen in here make me chuckle a bit, thinking did I see the same movie? That happens more often than not for me though. My take usually doesn't follow the popular vibe in here.

For me, it caps off the other two DCEU Snyder movies really well. As someone else commented quite a while back, it's Snyder at his most Snyder...and one either loves it or hates it...he doesn't have many middling fans. The action was better, some of the updated designs looked really cool and I like the dark tone and color adjustments that were made. This really looked like a graphic novel come to life. I really liked how some of the characters came across in this as opposed to the Josstice version. Gone is the surfer dude Arthur, along with the bumbling Batman. Flash still had humor, but it didn't feel hokey or forced.

The four hour run time didn't bother me...it gave the story a chance to breathe more and really helped with more character moments. The chapter breaks helped too. I broke up my viewing utilizing them but plan to watch it again in one sitting sometime soon.

It is interesting that Snyder went ahead and gave us all of these loose ends and interesting places to go at the end, more than likely knowing this was it. HBO Max didn't do this for any artistic reason...it's been a social media sensation that they could exploit to garner attention and new subscribers for their streaming platform. Can't fault them for that, but it's best not to get hopes up for any more. It is pretty well known that Snyder hoped to make two (maybe three) parts to his Justice League opus. Doesn't guarantee we'll ever see them.

I loved the last Knightmare scene and while short, I thought Leto's take on the Joker fit in the world Snyder has created here quite well. More dynamic and interesting than what we saw from him in Suicide Squad. Definitely makes me want to see more of them together. In fact, the whole kitchen sink approach to the multiple endings made me think of all of those comics with extra art and concept drawings in the back with commentary from the artists. Just throw it all in there for the fans to parse and enjoy.

Who know? If this generates some long-lasting heat for HBO and WB, maybe the Snyderverse could continue on HBO Max. I'd love the see the two last chapters of his Justice League and a Batman movie with Affleck's Bat, Deathstroke and the Joker could be cool.

Don't his ships have any sort of memory banks? Navigational charts? If he's been winning all that time, wouldn't a loss make that planet even more memorable? Maybe the parademons dropped him too hard on the floor of that ship and he hit his head hence is lack of memory.

Also... On the final Steppenwolf fight, was that a portal that was opening? If so, why didn't he charge in? The Motherboxes were already there for the taking. Him plus Steppenwolf and whatever minion he had beside him should have been able to fight the Justice League there. If they couldn't fight and win against the Justice League there, then he's too weak of a final boss. :rotfl

Yeah, in the end it's your own personal headcanon that counts. Plus I wouldn't put it past WB to canonize it (and further explore the Snyderverse) if it proves a hit.

Well, the shear volume of subscribers dling the movie crashed the site a few times.

I just started watching. Holy **** that Wonder Woman bank scene.

Had flashbacks to Nolan TDK cinematography for me. It's amazing how timing, music and proper scene sequencing can change a scene completely. Whedon really F'd that movie up. I'll never watch that version ever again. The 2nd viewing of it last weekend was cringe enough.

Couldn't have said it better. Man, I hope we at least get to see Snyder finish this off. Darkseid looked bad ass and the Knightmare stuff is really intriguing. I think the response has been much better than I thought it would be. I had no doubts I would enjoy this movie.

I'm pretty sure Darkseid learned his lesson the last time he rushed into battle without a good game plan. I'd imagine he knows Supes is no slouch.

Darkseid didnt know the anti life equation was on earth it was steppenwolf that discovered its location when he united the 3 mother boxes. He touched them and had vision that showed him it was on earth he then informed Dasaad.

I see what your saying about the symbol but i think the symbols were different. It was the unification of the mother boxes that allowed them to discover the location of the anti life. Darksied failed to unite them during his first invasion of earth so he wouldnt know it was there

My impression, which could be totally wrong, was that during the flashback battle Darkseid smashed the ground and all the red patterns were exposed.
Later, Steppebwolf smashes the ground and the same red patteens were exposed and he's like omg dad i found the thing! And Darkieds like omfg you better be sure! And I'm like wtf isn't that the same thing?

Thanks for that exploration SkyWalker!

Too me like Junkion it liked like Darksied HAD the equation, stamped it on earth and before he could unlock it he was defeated by Zeus and team. And he got beat so bad he forgot where earth was or something (this still doesn?t make sense to me)

The Knightmare stuff is the most interesting thing about the Snyderverse to be honest. I'd rather a 4 hour movie set in that.
