While I still thought it was superior, ZSJL made me appreciate Josstice League even more (but then I always dug it).

My favourite bit from ZSJL was the Knightmare epilogue; great to have the blanks starting to be filled in (which was the main oversight of Josstice League).

I guess the coffin scene at the end of BvS will never be explained...

It?s amazing how different they are.

Whedon put more focus on Batman suicide mission having Aquaman specifically call him out on it with:

So your genius move is dying you really are out of your mind!

Batman answers with the pitchfork joke which is funny btw.

Alfred even calls him out on it with:

No master Wayne, this is the team after Batman complains to Alfred that this wasn?t part of the plan.

But then Whedon pays it off with a weak formation of the group. :slap

The opposite with Snyder he doesn?t really make Batman suicide mission so on the nose for instance Aquaman only says to him you really are out of your mind no mention of dying but then ends it with a huge crowd pleasing JL group formation!

Both movies are complete opposites!

Much better than the theatrical cut. Not really a huge fan of DC overall, was more Marvel orientated especially growing up.

Glad Snyder finally got the release his vision for the movie anyway. This should be canon over that abomination from 2017.

Cant believe how poorly they treated Cyborg in the theatrical cut. Ray Fisher seems really excited about this on his Twitter and seems genuinely humbled by the fan response which is cool for him.

The only scene I would have kept from Whedons cut would be Aquaman sitting on the Lasso of Truth.

They really went full Mortal Kombat on Steppenwolf this time.

If I had to rate it then I would give it a 7.5. Theatrical cut gets like a 4.

Darkseid will wipe out half the universe so he doesn't have to think about it. Come on man!

More likely so he wouldn't have to remember they existed. That's too much for old senile Darkseid. :lol

A little easter egg in the movie that i missed but my wife caught.

lois is pregnant.

Im the middle of the film after MM disguised as martha comes to visits her, she wakes up in the middle of the night opens the drawer next to her bed and grabs a pregnancy test then goes into the bathroom. My wife also noticed her rubbing her stomach in that way woman do when they are pregnant. Then at the end of the film bruce congratulates Lois, i thought that was for her and clark getting married but it wasnt it was in regards to her being pregnant!!!

Very good catch! OK, so with this:

Yeah, I noticed that, too.
So maybe Snyder's idea was to not only let Lois die because of something Batman did, but also her (and Superman's) unborn son?

I can now understand how future Superman can be so angry/evil. Sort of... But it still doesn't explain why he would lash out at Earth or the other Justice League members. Shouldn't that make him even more angry at Darkseid?

From what I took from Darkseid and ALE is he found it on earth but didn?t know what planet this really was, brought the mother boxes to form the unity and unleash the ALE but he was beaten. Seems he?s beaten so many worlds he can?t keep track and wasn?t able to find earth again until Steppenwolf came across it again.

I thought there was a mention about him finding a power on Earth that he sought for? To quote Diana:

As Darkseid waged war on Earth, he found a secret there; a power hidden in the infinity of space. He called forth mystics who worshipped and controlled three objects: the Mother Boxes - indestructible living machines. Made from a science so advanced, it looks like sorcery.

The exposition dump continues to say that Earth is the only world Darkseid lost. Probably was so traumatic he forgot it. :lol

Aquaman puts on shirts to go into the village then takes them off to torture The Aquapella Trio.

I really could not understand that. Is that a cult? Are they groupies? What does Aquaman even smell like? Didn't Mera say he smelled bad? :lol

Genuinely curious... why are so many of y’all saying “comic fans will love this” when most of the characters... and I mean everyone but Superman, aren’t even close to representing their comic counterparts. Aquamomoa, Gollumborg, Punisher Batman, Autistic Flash, Wonder Gadot, Lame Lois, “Lex Luthor,” nothing like the comics. Not even close to the comics.

I truly don’t understand the love for any of these.

Aquamomoa - Literally Jason Momoa and Khal Drogo. Acts nothing like Aquaman. Dude is a drunk, tatted up, brown hair...

Punisher Batman - Not even Batman in this movie. Shoots and kills.

Gollumborg - Completely negative, squeaks when he moves, walks like Gollum

Autistic Flash - Doesn’t look like Barry, isn’t smart like Barry, he is literally the Jar Jar Binks of the Snyderverse. You have to admit it, he really is.

Lame Lois - Red head, Amy Adams looks are very meh

Lex Luthor - I think even the biggest SnyderDemons hate him.

Miss the ?You won?t let me live, you won?t let me die.? line.
Miss the Aquaman sitting on the lasso of truth scene.
Miss the Superman/Flash race.
But how does Lex know who Bruce is?
All I saw was GrumpyCat looking at Steppenwolfs face.
10/10 will watch again.
Much more understandable and fleshed out.

My take on it, if you take a still shot from this movie, it would fit very well into a comic book page. When it comes to how the scenes are composed, the movie looks amazing (dated CGI aside).

ZSJL is more like a miniseries. One of the strengths of JL was that resurrecting Superman was a central theme, like in The Search For Spock. In ZSJL it's just another chapter.

Me too. I even liked the "do you bleed?" and "something's definitely bleeding" lines.

Ray Fisher liked a tweet that said ZSJL is an evolution of cinema art while MCU is formula for the masses :slap

I gotta agree. This is the comic book movie that would come closest to getting Martin Scorsese's approval.

I would pay $20 for a version of this film with Scorsese's commentary.

Great idea! Maybe someone can actually make it happen.

Couple more takeaways: Clark looking out the window at his childhood swing was simple yet powerful. The intercutting of Jor-El and Jonathan's words of wisdom was Donner-esque.

Also weird to think we've all seen Josstice League but Zack hasn't. Maybe now he's made his cut without any outside distraction he can see what he missed.
