Re: The NATAL Thread

The only bad thing I see coming from Natal is that we'll have to listen to the haters and whiners complaining about motion control *again* All the people who hated on and continue to hate on the Wii will hate on this just as bad, if not worse.

Traditional games aren't going away the two technologies can co-exist.

For the first time in a loooooooong time, Microsoft is innovative. Why all the hate?

Re: The NATAL Thread

The video above doesn't even show the impressive part about it. This video here shows where this will shine...

Did anyone see the brick sitting on top of the xbox elite in the video? That thing is huge. That must be the interface that controls everything. It was the grey box on top to the left side of the TV.

Re: The NATAL Thread

i would like a MILO linked to all of my electronics so I can have him/her what to do and it happens so I don't have to have so many damn controllers. a ways off before that happens though.

MILO will kill us all. Terminater: Salvation IRL.

Re: The NATAL Thread

No matter how good or bad this turns out, it's a step in the right direction and it will keep the competition on it's toes.
So next year expect a device that will plug into the back of your head

Re: The NATAL Thread

Thinking about Milo reminded me of the C64 game Little computer people that I had in the 80's
It's amazing how far we have come

But real kids are hard enough to deal with. I mean how do you punish MILO, do you turn the system off? That is punishing me. i wonder if we will be able to chainsaw MILO if he acts up? hmmm.
First pet rocks, then cabbage patch kids, then virtual pets, now virtual kids. We're doomed.

Re: The NATAL Thread

I saw the original trailer to this yesterday and I am impressed. This makes the Wii look like regular NES technology and I also think there is no way shape or form they are building this to compete with the Wii. People who buy the Wii are looking for an inexpensive gaming experience although fun but inexpensive. This thing has voice and facial recognition and full body motion sensing how much do you think it will be? I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see this attachment sell for around or over $1000. It also looks a little to impressive but I don't think that Microsoft will release this until all of the kinks are worked out. Could you imagine the amount of money they would loose if it doesn't work perfectly. I also agree with Dinolast it's a step in the right direction.

:lol:lol:lol :rotfl
LOL

No, no no you don't need to buy that thing to play that game. That's an Xbox 360 Dev-kit that's not an add-on it's actually apart of the kit for development.

It's funny to me because I work in the Games Industry. When someone freak out about something I see everyday I laugh.

Oh ok I was wondering. How can I get a dev kit? What do you do in the game industry?

Well if you want a Devkit you need to call up microsoft and fork up $10,000 USD and be a licensed business. :D

No this is not a joke.

Re: The NATAL Thread

Is there even a hint as to when this might get released yet?

They haven't said, obviously this is in early stages, but I would say as much as two years till it's out. It might get announced next E3 for a Fall 2010 release, but seeing as how game developers are just now getting the Dev kit for it 1 year isn't long enough for a great game so if it does come out next year it'll probably have a selection of small games to go along with it. Bigger games might have minimal integration (things like controlling menus, but not requiring people to buy the hardware) but definitely no big games made for the system.

Re: The NATAL Thread

What's your gamertag?

You're on Partner.Net?
What's you're Account Name we'll chat. I get new CL# for builds everyday so I always need to switch around.

Re: The NATAL Thread

the only thing that seemed interesting enough was the Milo thing. I hope and and dont that they make some more good games for it. Hope cause it would be nice to have a variety of decent games to mess around with using this thing, DOnt hope they do so I dont have to spend the cash to get it.
