I really hope someone makes a legit Half Life movie one of these days.

They prolly don't need much. The only thing I can see that would cost is the props and costumes. Crew is prolly very minimal and looking at the ages of the actors and types of actors, they look like friends of the filmmakers. I would guess single camera. I wouldn't be surprised if one of them knows Aftereffects so there is no cost for effects just a lot of time.

Is valve doing anything with the Half Life universe? What happened to HL 2 ep 3?

I believe Valve decided to scrap the episodic based content and build an entirely new engine for HL3.

Was also rumored back around September that Valve may make there own Half Life movie. Gabe Newell is like the Stanley Kubrick of games, he understands his characters and storytelling would be whored out by 3rd parties and takes alot of pride in them. We would have had HL figures years ago but Gabe saw the protos and didn't think they were good enough so he canceled them.
