"I didn't care too much for the Avengers. It wasn't my kind of film. Whedon (or anyone) did a good job here, but I felt it was lacking in it's cinematography. It worked for the film. But I disagreed with the choices the cinematographer used.I would've done it a bit differently...haha. I've never been a big blockbuster fan, even though I've been working on them for 8 years now! Haha(insert laugh).

Whether Wally Pfister is a ****** or not, this film sounds awful. The plot seems lame and Johnny Depp is the most uninspired casting choice that gets "film fans" excited and drooling. He is a good actor, but his choices in movies and his performances for the past decade have been hit and miss. Definitely more misses than hits.

I'll get excited when C. Nolan announces his new film!

That's what you would've said, that doesn't mean that's what Pfister would've said; and his points were accurate, some of those shots were more focused on the elaborate sets than they were on being good shots.

They were fine shots for a comic book movie.

Wally just focus pulls everything. That's pretty much it. Every shot is focus pulled, and that works for the movies, but it's nothing that stands out and makes me go "WOW. AMAZING SHOT".

Where's The Avengers had some really great, inspired shots that told the story without saying anything.

Like the Spear shot. Flipping the camera upside down was pretty much stating the spear was flipping the team upside down, and controlling them.

Pure comic stuff.

I dunno, i'm excited - Depp has definitely had more than his fair share of misses of late but i'm happy for him to be doing something outside of Burton flicks and Jack Sparrow. I can't tell much of anything about potential lameness of the plot from those few lines.

Of course, can't wait for Nolan to announce what he's doing next :impatient:

The shot where the camera goes past the team, holds on the spear, then does a 180 and flips the whole camera around.

I was excited for "Jumper" when it was first announced from the premise, David Goyer, and Doug Liman all being involved. I saw one trailer and said "Yyyyeah, no." Don't get your hopes high for this. I wouldn't mind being pleasantly surprised but in no way am I excited.

I saw "The Avengers" twice. I don't remember that shot either... The MU isn't about masterful cinematography. It's about comic fun. Nolan's films have a very different cinematography because they set out to be human/psychological dramas and experiences. Both have good cinematography for what they are.

I read he's filming in LA.

I'm not super excited about this, but I am happy it's not another Burton/Depp collaboration.

Who's Wally Fister? Never heard of him.

The story centers on a man who creates a computer that develops a malevolent awareness? Never heard of anything like that before, sounds original. Transcendence is another name for Rizes. Johnny Derp and John Connor and Peter Parker? THIS SOUNDS LIKE CRAP.

I hope this bombs and is considered an appalling piece of filmmaking. That will show that pretentious piece of ****.

Then again, he did seem pretty nice on the sets . . but eh, he looks like he's always getting a whiff of dirty underwear. Every expression he makes with his face makes it seem like he's miserable or disgusted. Probably has something to do with seeing sub par films I reckon. If it wasn't for Batman, I wouldn't care. Oh, this isn't Batman? I don't care. He did make some pretty cool soft core porn back in the 90s that I fapped to many, many times. Probably more times than Batman. Cinematography **** > Cinematography Batman. Wonder why a person who filmed porn would be so pretentious and so highbrow?

He's got a cute daughter though. I'd pork her then have him film me doing it with a nice epic Hanz Simmer score.

Cillian Murphy has been cast in this aswell, so i'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

Teaser Trailer for Wally Pfister's Transcendence is intriguing.

A solid teaser. Still not excited for this but am certainly more open to it. Especially depending on how the full trailer and other promo images look.
