This is the least interesting route they can go but it seems this will be the first in a new expanded universe. Not a fan at all.

Agreed, but at least it's still better than a remake.

At this point I'd be happy if they just left it alone. I'm not a fan of the whole expanded universe trend. If they have an idea for new stories that can push the story forward, then great, but never while watching The Matrix Trilogy did I care to find out about a young Morpheus and all his exploits.

Oh the ideal thing with today's trends is to ALWAYS leave this stuff alone, anything, being anime adaptations, remakes of old stuff, just DON'T TOUCH IT!
