After some fun conversing over on the BvS thread, I was really inspired to do an updated version of The Clown Prince of Crime's 2015 Top 10 Fictional Character List.

Just curious to know what all y'all's favorite fictional characters are! Any medium is fair game: Movies, TV shows, Comic Books, Manga, Video Games, Poetry, Music, Etc.

If you'd like to give a reason why you like a character, I, and I'm sure a lot of others here would love to read your reasoning! You don't need anything deep! It could be based on aesthetics or simply because they make for cool toys. Whatever!

Oh, and if the character isn't too well-known, be sure to let folks know where the character is from so they can check them out!

I'll update this with reasons later on, but these are just quick blurbs why I like my favorite characters:

1.Son Goku (Dragon Ball series)- He's basically the embodiment of all my childhood desires. No other fictional character makes me smile like Son Goku. The guy basically has everything I dreamed of in life: the ability to work out and practice martial arts all day long, a wife and kids that love him unconditionally, the ability to make friends with anyone, financial security, a never-ceasing joyful attitude, and a world free from technological bombardment. What makes him interesting to me is that he's totally self-aware in regards to his pride, crudeness, and lackluster parenting skills, but he see's them as non-issues. As long as people are happy and safe, that's all that matters to him, and it's fun to witness such a simplistic view on life for someone as anxious as myself.

2. Batman- No matter what mind-set I'm in, whether Batman is interpreted as a street level vigilante, a knight, a cowboy, an alien, a cave-man, a bat-man, a member of the Green Lantern core, etc , there's always Batman interpretation that appeals to me. I like that he can remain so compassionate towards such criminals who choose to do such evil without becoming a hate-filled mess.

3. Aragorn- My favorite character in my favorite novel and favorite movie trilogy.

4.Michael Corleone (The Godfather movies)- I love sympathetic villains and I thought Michael's transition was fantastic. I'm a fan of Al Pacino's work, and I think he did an amazing job with this character.

I couldn't resist the temptation Baneofdemon, I've got to say as an adult I don't really have too many favourites. Mine mainly resonate from my childhood so if you don't mind I'd like to come at this from that angle.....

In no particular order

1. Usagi Yojimbo - my favourite comic book, just love the simplicity of Stan Sakai's story telling to pull off complex emotions and intricate details while incorporating factual history all into a story about anthromorphic animals :lol

2. Batman - for so many reasons, too many to even consider writing.

3. Bastian (from the Neverending Story) - I don't know, I could relate to how he felt. He was shy but at the same time wanted adventure and I think I was kind of the same at that age.

4. David Scott Freeman (Flight of the Navigator) - again an adventure that I wished I could be a part of.

5. Master Splinter - the TMNT sage, love how he could be strict yet silent and then rattle off a one liner that made me laugh. In his earliest form he was totally badass too :yess:

6. Hulk - what's not to love about the big brute

7. Captain America - actually I didn't care much for the character until 'The First Avenger' now I couldn't watch an Avengers movie without him. (There we go I finally got a favourite from my older years) haha

8. Wolverine - Of course I was sucked in by a character that could heal, had a metal skelaton with claws on each hand. But I really got drawn into the character after reading the comics. Not only is he a serious badass but his villains gallery do some pretty heavy stuff to wolverine all the time but they can get away with it because his healing factor. I always remember the comic where Logan is getting eaten by some canibalitic villain, it shocked the heck out of me at the time.

9. Michaelangelo (TMNT) - always been my turtle and always will be even though I love all four brothers.

Damn this actually really tough to do.....

10. Optimus Prime - the main bot! Peter Cullen. There is no transformers without this character as far as I'm concerned. I was devastated (pun intended) after watching the movie as a kid :lol

1. Cooper - Interstellar
2. Walter White - Breaking Bad
3. Rust Cohle - True Detective
4. Pauline - Excision
5. Rey - The Force Awakens
6. The Joker - The Dark Knight
7. John Wick
8. Jesse Pinkman - Breaking Bad
9. Gus Fring - Breaking Bad
10. Tyler Durden - Fight Club

Darth Vader
Immortan Joe
Anton Chigurh
Tyler Durden
TDK Joker
Rick Deckard
Indiana Jones
Hannibal Lecter
Batman
James Bond

1. Big Boss - Metal Gear series

2. Tony Soprano - The Sopranos

3. Neo - The Matrix

4. Batman - The Dark Knight

5. Joker - The Dark Knight

6. Sam Rothstein - Casino

7. The Punisher

8. Eric Cartman - Southpark

9. Stuntman Mike - Deathproof

Same answer as last year, the order changed a bit though. I figured I'd elaborate on some of those.

Vegeta - One of the best fictional characters ever, if you ask me. His will is matched by no other. His desire to be the best, to work hard for it is nothing but admirable. His pride is legendary. His story of a troubled beginning, subjection to Frieza, his evil past and (later on) redemption is captivating. His frustrations of forever being the second best is tragic. Also, this:

The Juggernaut - I always loved the "Unstoppable" aspect of it. Back when I was kid, whenever the Juggernaut was on the TV show or the comics it was a bit of a "oh, crap... what are we going to do now?" moment and I think that stuck with me.

Iron Man (from MCU)- I just love the movies and therefore the character.

Captain America (from MCU)- Same as above.

Spiderman (Comics) - I grew up with the character and he has to be one of the most down to Earth, honest working superhero with daily, common men problems. Always entertaining to read.

Shadow the Hedgehog - The Vegeta of the Sonic franchise.

Sonic the Hedgehog - The Goku, of the Sonic Franchise. I grew up playing the game so I love the stories and aesthetics of the character.

Akuma - His only reason to live is his quest to ultimate power and to try himself against those he finds worthy of fighting against him. He subjected himself to evil forces in order to achieve said power.

Agent Coulson - I always liked his calm, soft spoken demeanor. He is bad ass hiding behind a caring and gentle man.

Seu Madruga (Don Ramon from El Chavo del Ocho) - Great character that only those from South America will know. A true legend down there, adored and revered by millions.

I wish you guys would tell us why you picked the characters you did.

PS: Sorry Snoopy, I totally overlooked that the last one had a curse word in it.

Wow. Thanks everyone! I wasn't sure if anyone would be interested in doing this, but I'm happy to see everyone's list since I'm assuming these characters are a big reason why most of us are on this website!

No, that's awesome! Like I said, any reason is great! I'm younger than most folks on this website, so that might contribute to why I can become more passionate about discussing these characters. I barely watched any tv or movies as a kid, so I've only experienced a lot of fictional properties recently. That's why my list can keep changing! :lol

Anyways, I appreciate your explanations!
