as far as color, that was brought up on the other thread, and this is what i responded...

here is an old photo of it in natural light, showing the color a little better, before we covered it in rubber.

some other older ones ( note the bridge is unpainted. ) we didn't post these because we thought it was poor lighting, and they are somewhat out of focus, but again, for color purposes they are more accurate.

trust me in person, its almost identical to the original color wise, except it doesn't look like mattel gave a baby a can of black spray paint....

... awful.


we decided to leave the terrible black spray out. but it should be easy enough for someone to add if they wanted to.

been a long time since the last update. thought i would pop in and let people know where this is at.
we have been building an actual space to do the casting in, its about 10 degrees here and the resin won't cure.
we have been carpenters lately. literally tearing down walls, and building new ones, and floors, and ceilings. wait until you see what we have built just to cast these bad boys. haha its great. so yeah, i haven't been online in a while. and i see now the thread has been neglected.
- i have more photos of the proto with some figures on it coming soon. but not just yet.

- and finally, the reveal of the lower tower cover. this has been done for ages, but we were going to get it cast and save it for the final piece to reveal, but with the cold weather and the studio build holding us up. here you go!

the windows will be cut out obviously.

some behind the scenes, work in progress of the mold.

first detail layer of rubber.

after a thick coat of orange, we dyed the rubber to make sure we gave it a good second coat.

had to take pieces of my car interior out to transport it to my house from bens.

sectioning off areas for resin mother mold. this is done in sections, otherwise you would never get the mother mold apart.

crappy temporary garage studio. we spent 11 cold days in here making the mold. then it got flooded.

some video game villain.

resin mother mold sections.

taken apart. a big puzzle.

we burnt out both those dremels. and drank something like 90 beers.

thanks! yeah i love that lower wall section too. was hoping to reveal it at the end. but ah well. I'm going to put some lights in my towers so it shines out the windows.

Mattel should hire you to produce this for them, since they probably won't get around to releasing one.

as long as we had the NRD first half up front you can take as long as you need for the second half. there are only 7 spots left on the list, and if you got on now you would still be looking at around 6 months before we would need the second half plus shipping. so i think thats a huge amount of time. worth some thought!
