Just a couple quick pics...just waitin on clarks boots to come in and i guess im done

for those who have made their own custom capes, is there a specific fabric you use? I'm not in a position to buy one of Tony's excellent wire capes and will have to make my own so I'm inquiring.

I bought a roll of material that is almost exactly the same material Tony uses and made a cape myself for a figure. It's not that hard. That is to say, the one i made myself was not as good as my Tony Meis cape, but was better than the HT one.

Nice pics. I see it is on your custom MOS. I put my custom project on hold until I get KP's modified KP02XXL figure. What s the name of the cape material? How did you determine the dimensions for the cut?

The material i bought was just the right colour and texture. I have no idea what the name is. For the shape, i just guessed it. It seemed to work okay. I generally draw a perfect circle which has a diameter of the distance of Superman's ears to his heels. Then cut out maybe 15% of the circle and cut a curve for his neck. If there's too much cloth, cut some more out, and so on.
If you want me to cut one out for you, let me know. You'd have to add the wire yourself but that's easy enough.
I also used that same material for the 1890's farmer Superman i made for my Brother's birthday.

Thank you very much for the advice and offer but I don't want to put you out of your way. You have always been a very helpful person on this board. I will try and simulate the measurements you've referenced.

Fair enough. I have loads of the material if you want me to do it.
If you want to do it yourself, that's also fair enough.

This is my best custom Super...
Recently restored, 1/3 scale, my childhood's toy.
It's very special for me...

I hope you all like my super as much as I do! ;)

looks great ,ive never seen that supes before ,really unusual,do you have any background on it, so am i right in thinking its 24 inches tall ,1/3 scale ,it looks like it ties in to the chris reeve 1970s films ,how much did you have to restore and how much is original ,looks nice good work

Yes! I really haven't seen or found another one like it, in fact that is the reason to put it here. You are right, it's 24 inches tall. I remember that it was a gift from my childhood... and that it was achieved in Spain between 1979 and 1982... little more. The restoration work has consisted in remaking all costume and touching a few the face's paint.

Yes! It looks like new. The old Man from Toy Story has been around here as well!! Hehehe
But the truth is that another special hands made that pretty change!!! :)

hey just wondering if you used the ssc batman body for your chris reeve supes ,and if so any problems with the reeve boots splitting on the seams ,a really nice choice and use of bodies and costume parts ,great stuff
