SSC Alien 'Big Chap Jesus Pose' & Predator Rumours

Hey freaks!!!

Couldn't find a thread on this so thought I'd share what I've found out...

Sideshow are in the early stages of designing HR Gigers 'Jesus Pose' Alien Big Chap and are doing it LSF style!!!!!!!
They are also working on a Legendary Scale 1987 Predator piece!!!!! Epic news!!!!

I wonder if they are going 1:2 or LSF as in how the Wolf piece was...
Either way I'm not a fan of the early design. The tail swirl is dumb and it's more like that Prometheus mural than Alien to me.
I'd much rather something like this...

Nailed it.

I'll wait for Prime 1 and see what they're able to do before making a decision, but I think I'm better off tracking down the original Predator 1/4 maq.

first off, how do you know that Alien is a LSF and second is how you define a LSF? because Wolf is smaller than 1:3 scale, but most of the line is 1:2. I'm not sure many will be spending 2k for basically a 1:4 P1 if it's not going to be as accurate as the first one is. I don't really see Prime getting the Predator license if SS will making a 1:3 or 1:2 P1.

Face sculpt on the Big Chap looks decent, at least from the angle shown in those tiny images. Not a big fan of the base nor the windy tail. As for the Predator... man, my hopes are low. Even if they turn out looking good, who knows what the quality will be on the final piece. I'm holding out for more info on Prime 1's merch.

Saw these posted on Facebook as the choices they had to choose from for this, and personally think 1, 3 and 4 are the best. I'm guessing they may think it was too similar to their previous release? That said, I still would've gone with them. The Xeno on the prowl is much better than the Xeno coming down from the heavens, or ascending to the heavens, or whatever this "Jesus" pose is supposed to mean. I have no idea what they were thinking on this one.

I like the 3rd pose the most. 4 isn't bad either, but it may be too animalistic for the Big Chap. 3 is the perfect balance between dynamics and that classic, man-in-a-suit aesthetic.

2 just doesn't look right because, for the Christ/sarcophagus pose to work, they need to base the sculpt either on the actual suit proportions or the original Giger maquette. That's why Sano's statue works and Sideshow's doesn't. The latter company always goes for an idealized version that was never seen on screen nor in the studio.

That is probably the only pose of the lineup I would not buy. Hopefully the P1 is more like Wolf and not the new P2, although if this is the Alien I don't have high hopes.

To each their own, of course! I don't find it creepy whatsoever. I think it's just bizarre, and I don't see the appeal in it at all, both as a buyer and from an artistic point of view. I'd always want to make a badass Xeno statue...but hey, like I said, different strokes! This pose just looks like he's about to bungee jump, or do some Olympic diving.

Don't like any of the other poses really. Some are too monsterish, others are just weird and awkward, in an un-alien-like way.

They should have taken this current pose and tilted the head and body down a bit more I think.
