that is possibly the scariest most amazing replica i have ever seen. are they still available to order?

I have a question.... why are Dave and the mods so sensitive about this item when we have an entire Forum on here dedicated to custom (i.e. bootleg) figures, many of which are for sale?

:dunno

The Slippery Slope is slippery.

Congrats to all who ordered. This piece is very well done, not for me.

Pretty certain this is still available.

.

There's a huge difference between an unlicensed, mass-produced finished and painted sculpture and customizers getting together trying to put figures together of obscure characters.

Customizing is a huge part of the 1/6 hobby and I won't do anything to stifle that part of it on this forum. But any discussion of selling a mass-produced product that infringes on a current license isn't allowed.

If you have questions, PM me. I don't want this thread hijacked for this discussion.

Dear Darklord Dave....forgive my not PM'ing you on this but I think it is important for this to be seen by other members here. Having studied law especially copyright & licensing infringements I have to ask.........how does this "product infringe on a current license"? The creators make no mention of JAWS in the advertisement or selling of this item. Also this is not a "mass-produced product" according to most industry standards. It is in fact a limited edition run of 75 pieces. Now if these guys were making several hundred to thousands of these things (as most products are that are considered "mass-produced") then yes, I would think it would be considered mass produced by industry standards.

Case in point........There are several companies in China that produce licensed figures and items but doesn't generally call it what it really is....at least not on the packaging anyway. However, they are marketing their products on places like ebay using licensed and trademarked names. I have seen them produce many licensed items using trademarked names in the advertising of their products....names like Batman, Superman, Catwoman, Michael Myers, Indiana Jones, etc. and they get away with it making a minimum of 100 or more 1/6 scale figures and/or accessories for such figures.....some of which I have seen advertised on this very website, yet no one says a word about that. Check out the links below and you'll see what I am referring to.

1. Here's a good one....."Custom made Batman - Catwoman 1/6 Action figure COOL" (these folks don't even bother hiding their figure under some obscure name....they use the trademarked name "Batman" and "Catwoman" and notice they specify this item is "Limited to 100 pieces only" (meaning it's a limited edition as is the 75 pc. Bruce maquette run) and they call it a "Custom" and not "mass-produced" item and this figure's run is 25% larger than the Bruce maquette run. Check it out here: https://cgi.ebay.com/Custom-made-BA...tem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2307fb51c0

2. Here's another one......"custom made 1/6 Terminator action figure Jacket set t-2".....this one is a "Limited Edition 150 set"......50% larger run than the "Custom Catwoman" and still considered "Limited Edition" and again not trying to hide the "Terminator" name which I am sure is an infringement. Check it out here: https://cgi.ebay.com/custom-made-1-...tem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2308091f99

3. And another....."custom IronMan Big Boss 1/6 action figure VER hot toys"....."WORLDWIDE LIMITED 200PCS".....a limited edition size of 200 pieces......over double the edition size of Bruce and still considered "Limited": https://cgi.ebay.com/custom-IronMan...tem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2307cf9679

4. Michael Myers (Halloween AKA "Boogeyman")....."Hot Boogeyman 12" figure Halloween Psychopath Toys": https://cgi.ebay.com/Hot-Boogeyman-...tem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2eae14800c . When this item first came out the description said limited edition size of 100 pcs.......I see the seller has now removed that from the description because I've been following it as Halloween is one of my favorite movies and Michael Myers one of my favorite characters. The manufacturer of this item even goes so far as to show the Michael Myers head.....ALA "Richard Warlock" Michael Myers mask to be exact from Halloween 2 (1981 John Carpenter produced version directed by Rick Rosenthal). The producers of the Bruce maquette do not offer any packaging that shows images of the Roger Kastel Movie poster from JAWS nor is JAWS ever used in the promotion of their collectible.

5. And another......custom TAXI DRIVER ROBERT DENIRO 1/6 ACTION FIGURE HOT"......."Limited to 200pcs".......over double the edition size of Bruce and still considered "limited": https://cgi.ebay.com/custom-TAXI-DR...tem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item23081bcfa5

6. And another......"custom BATMAN Jack Nicholson JOKER 1/6 figure head"....."Limited to 50 sets only!": https://cgi.ebay.com/custom-BATMAN-...tem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2eadaad11e

7. And another......"custom The Transporter 1/6 ACTION FIGURE"......"Limited to 100pcs": https://cgi.ebay.com/custom-Transpo...tem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2307a26001

8. And another...."custom made Resident Evil 1/6 ACTION FIGURE"......"Worldwide Limited 100pcs": https://cgi.ebay.com/custom-made-Re...tem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2307f9b0a8

9. And another...."custom made superman Reeve Christopher 1/6 figure head"......"Limited to 100 sets only !": https://cgi.ebay.com/custom-made-su...tem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item230793cb19

10. And another...."Custom made Twilight Edward Culle 1/6 Action figure"......"Limited to 100 pieces only": https://cgi.ebay.com/Custom-made-Tw...tem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item230822b0e2

And there are many, many more where these came from.

Oh and one other thing......the BRUCE NTT MAQUETTE IS NOT A BOOTLEG as some people have called it. A bootleg is a copy of something preexisting.....what we would call in the sculpture industry as a "recast" and the Bruce NTT is NOT A RECAST.....nor is it preexisting.....it is an actual & original sculpture (work of art) created entirely by Mike Schultz.

I think one member on here said it best with this observation......"The mods will eventually tire of the positive reactions and lock it just like the last thread. I think the main problem is NTT threatens them.".......couldn't agree with that statement more!

Looks great... I
m still scared of this movie and struggle watching it alone... I have a phobia of sharks, which I believe Bruce is the cause of! :lol

Put a 1:6 figure in his mouth!

lol, as soon as I got myself a 1/8 Quint, I'd be gladly to throw him into NTT's mouth.

What does this weigh exactly?

Chris

It's about half the weight of the SS version.

that is possibly the scariest most amazing replica i have ever seen. are they still available to order?

Dont think so...

Chris

Yes, it's still available. Just google it.

The slippery slope is DEFINITELY slippery. :lol

That's REALLY interesting, Dave. I mean no disrespect but you had me at "obscure characters". My goodness, one thing that make this great forum so great is that people can find all kinds of info on stuffs they loved and wanted to buy and that's anything but obscure.

Here's just one of many examples. Isn't Bobby amazing? I'd buy from he any day. Please forgive me, Bobby, lol. I'd love to hear what you think about it. Again, I'm just a collector like anyone else here, I collect, I buy and I do share.

Maybe the $750, if I got in during the first 25. But not for inflated pricing as the edition number rises. Very nice maquette though.

Looks good,but not $750.00 good.IMHO.

Congrats nonetheless.:hi5:

Dear Webb,

I can respect your decision not to own one as much as I hope others can respect my decision to own one. For diehard fans of the original film this maquette is a dream come true. I would have paid whatever was necessary to own one.....but that's just me. It is the "Holy Grail" of my collection and absolutely hands down the finest collectible I own.....and I own dozens of maquettes and hundreds of collectibles.

As an artist myself who creates both 2D and 3D works for the better part of 25+ years now, I certainly appreciate the time and effort as well as the EXTREME ATTENTION TO FINE DETAILS that Mike Schultz has put into this project. The price for me is negligible compared to a lifetime of enjoyment that this piece brings to fans like me. Not one person who has received this maquette thus far has complained about the price....especially not after seeing it in person.......only 5 STAR reviews are offered up and that's got to account for something....yes?
:wink1:

if thats the case then im definately getting one assuming its still available- just signed up to operation orca to find out!

Thanks, Webb. For us Jaws fans it worth every penny, and more.

I'm a fan,I'm going to Martha Vineyards,in 2 weeks,I love going and see the bridge where the Jaws was spotted,by the woman on the beach...:yess:

jaws_bridge.jpg

I have the SideShow one which suffice my "Jaws lust" :hi5: Plus I don't have the money now,I just put money down for a WW2 German Tiger Tank 1/6 which is more valuable to me than Jaws.

Tiger tanks are nice. Difference is, this Bruce won't be available after December. And if you're going to the Island that doesn't make you a true JAWS fan...just like it doesn't make you an islander.:)

True JAWS fans know the difference between different sharks and also know that BRUCE doesn't go by the name "The JAWS".:slap

im very tempted to get this, shipping to the uk seems reasonable considering the size. im just worried about custom fees and any hidden charges that i may get hit with at this end.

ordered. no willpower. now its time to start the chumline and wait...
