BB and Kaz in underwear is uncomfortable to watch.... How that made it into a MGS game I'll never understand

After you've seen a random MSF soldier in his underwear armed with soft porn magazines and a rocket launcher in Peace Walker multiplayer, then we'll talk. :lol

Thought this was kind of funny :lol

Metal Gear Solid 5 Screenshot Used in News Report on Child Soldiers
News station shows a Phantom Pain screenshot while talking with a real-life former child soldier.

The image above is one of the many that Konami has released to promote Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. And while it--like the rest of the game--looks very nice, you wouldn't expect anyone who looks at it for more than a moment to think it's an actual photograph. Yet that appears to be exactly what someone working for television network RT (formerly Russia Today) mistakenly thought.

As part of a news report this week on child soldiers, RT show SophieCo spoke with Emmanuel Jal, a former child soldier who is now a hip-hop artist. At one point, the camera pans by a screen displaying the screenshot seen above--too quickly for most to realize what they were looking at wasn't a photograph, except for one Tumblr user who did notice (via Kotaku).

You can check out the GIF below or watch the full video (which I couldn’t help but notice uses music from one of the Ocean's Eleven movies) at RT; the moment in question happens at the 5:50 mark. It's not the first time something like this has happened; last year, a Danish TV station used an image from Assassin's Creed when talking about Syria. A year prior, the BBC used the logo of Halo's UNSC (the United Nations Space Command) when talking about the real-world UNSC (the United Nations Security Council).

The Phantom Pain is currently without a release date but is coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. It made a strong impression with its E3 showing, and even people from Hollywood chimed in to share their thoughts on its E3 trailer.

Hideo Kojima, Phantom Pain's director and the Metal Gear series' creator, said after E3 that he was blown away by the visuals in the PlayStation 4 version of Grand Theft Auto V. He was so impressed, in fact, that he said they caused him to be "depressed again," referencing the fact that he was concerned last year about the standards GTA V would set for open-world games.

At least for one day, though, Kojima can be proud that his game's visuals were mistaken for the real thing.

I hope this is true, the wait won't be sooo bad.

I agree on all points of that article Kojima has ****ed up the ending to this franchise.

Just stop saying every MGS is the last already, it's a marketing ploy. In fact correct me if I'm wrong but from the interviews with Kojima, he seemed to imply this time that it isn't. :lol

Personal opinions aside, it's no secret that he's written himself into a corner and screwing up the canon the longer he goes on trying to make sense of 25 years worth of mythology.

He could have in theory, at least salvaged some of it with TTP but i have a feeling he isn't going to.

Nothing suggest he is, when a man has to keep repeating something such as 'it's the game BB turns bad' (like MG onwards bad) you can assume it's because he is having to try and justify it to everyone and himself.

If it does however, and it retcons some of MGS4s major bloopers i would be very impressed. I've said for the longest time avoiding the plot holes and other things has been pure lazy writing on Kojima's part. Don't set out doing something you don't intent to finish properly.

Well Im kinda cool with the fact that every single MG game ends up remade, like, overlaying the new stuff into the old or whatever, but the fact that it all ends with a remake of MGS4 "directors cut" kind of thing might be way better ending for the Solid saga (with the original ending of Otacon and Snake turning in)

That was brilliant! :clap Kojima needs to "let it go" already and use his talents for something else; or else, he's going to forever pigeonhole himself as just "the guy who makes MGS games". It's hilarious how he was complaining a few months ago that he had a lot more things to bring to the table aside from MGS. But, his one chance of creating a new IP (Project Ogre) got turned into another MGS game, and ZOE 3's development was even canceled to fund more MGS.

He's a complicated man...

It's truly remarkable how the themes of "revenge", and "men become demons" are so overplayed in MGS V, and TPP hasn't even been released as yet :lol. In addition, the E3 trailers were severely monotone in their presentation, because they kept rehashing how BAAADDD things are gonna happen :rolleyes2.

The only reason why I'm even looking forward to TPP, is because of the possible MG 1 and 2 remakes, which may follow soon after. I can hope that this series can be put to rest, with Solid Snake back in the helm as the main protagonist (but, who am I kidding, right?).

I wished Kojima was allowed to do something not Metal Gear. The man is a genius and a visionary yet a prisoner to his own child.
