In more exciting news, one of the usual leakers on Instagram recently confirmed the rumoured Batman Forever Batmobile is coming soon from McFarlane. Hopefully not too long after the Forever wave of figures 🤞🏻

The botched canopy on the Batmobile is too egregious for me to excuse. It looks like a character from Pixar's "Cars".

uggh that freaking canopy.....

Ramen Toys made a set to fix the Mcfarlane Canopy, added machine guns and gas caps. $20 + shipping

I love the '89 Batmobile. It's my favorite car of all time. I had to leave my Hot Toys version in Japan two years ago. I've always wanted a 1/12 version, but nobody ever made one.

Til McFarlane did last year. But I refused to buy it. That hideous misshapen bulbous off-color canopy is such an eyesore it ruined the whole thing for me. I couldn't get past it.

Then late last year I saw that Ramen Toys was doing a beautiful replacement canopy, and it wasn't terribly priced either. So I put in an order. THEN I got the amazon Batmobile and figure, cause I wasn't gonna get it til I secured a proper canopy first.

The Ramen Toys "CAG set" arrived a few days ago and it's freaking perfect. It turns the McF Batmobile into a decent model. Not perfect, but a thousand times better. I also did like many others and ripped the head off the Keaton figure and replaced it with a Mezco head.

Scales well with the Mezco figure, but no way am I gonna risk breaking that damn thing by trying to get it to sit.

With a Mezco head on the McF body, I feel like I have a good "stunt double" figure that I don't mind messing around with.

Fits nicely inside...too bad his hands can't hold the wheel.

Window is tinted, so I shined a light in to show Batman driving.

It looks SOOOOO much ****ing better now. McFarlane has no excuse for that ugly ass canopy. I'll never understand some of the baffling decisions toy companies make. A guy in Singapore was able to make a perfect piece to complete this thing....why couldn't it have been "right" in the first place??

I also got my Ramen Toys CAG set, what a an upgrade. For $19, they knocked it out of the park. I can’t get over how nicely made the canopy and machine guns are. The way the guns lock in with friction naturally into the top ports of the McFarlane Batmobile is great engineering. To the average person, it looks seamless like it belonged to the original Batmobile all along.

What a difference the new canopy makes. It went from looking like a weird, stylized CARS cartoon to a sleek, intimidating model by just a simple swap. Amazing. The paint job on all the parts is immaculate and they got that satin matte finish to perfectly match up. Love the smokey tinted windshield too. They did a great job. The McFarlane Batmobile went from meh to displayable, I love it.

Two things. Not adding on the gas caps. They look way too thick and chunky and I don’t want that 3M adhesive on my Batmobile. Am I the only one that had trouble getting those two deep screws out of the bottom? Holy ****. For whatever reason, those two deep screws just wouldn’t come out of the port. Had to pry up the back side and work awkwardly in the cockpit/back seat to get the upgrade canopy in. What a pain in the ass.

I wasn't going to apply the gas caps either but I gotta admit, it looks great in Otomofan and Jason Markos photos, I just like the more sleek looking lines without them. I didn't have a hard time reaching any screws, I just had the right length/size screwdriver I guess.
My '89 Batmobile looks perfect now. I know there are 3D printed mods you can still add to it like a two-seater cabin interior for 1:12 sized figures but, I'm content with the way mine looks right now.
The Modoking Tumbler & Batpod model kit is in "1/12 scale" (IE; it's in a larger Marvel Legends/GI Joe Classified 1:11 scale) so it might appear too small next to the 1:10 -ish scaled McFarlane '89, but it's a fantastic deal!

McFarlane will be releasing a Tumbler later this year, with an exclusive Lucius Fox figure.

Doubt theirs will have a removable Batpod like Modoking's though!

Ace from RamenToys ended up having to re-do the whole batch of the canopies twice too which is why it took a while to release. There was originally a molding error where it wouldn't sit completely flush since they didn't test it by actually reinstalling the bottom part with all the screws. But then there there was a paint manufacturing defect where the paint mix was different. The second batch the manufacturer workers had gotten paint onto the windows. They fixed everything with the release product which is fantastic. I'm not sure if Ace was even able to make money from it, but hopefully it's been a good selling product for them.

RamenToys will be doing a CAG 2.0 which will replace the one seat with a 2 seater and make the inside dashboard more accurate.

They are really showing how underscaled their 89 Batmobile is there. Wish they had shown it as much love and effort as the Tumbler
The McFarlane '89 Batmobile is accurately scaled. I've seen the real one and later a replica up close and at 13 yo, the front fenders came up to my waist, on the Mcfarlane figures the front fenders come up to around the crotch like you see in photos of the real one with Keaton standing next to it. The '89 isn't nearly as big as some think it is.
