Saw this again, and noticed that the Julio character is the kid from "spy kids" . He looked totally different.

I made the mistake of sort of expecting something as campy and over the top as planet terror.

It was pretty fun...I thought it was going to be really ridiculous and intense like the first scene with the head decapitation and the cell phone. I think it could have benefited from less plot and talky parts, or those parts could have at least been taking a bit more seriously...I felt alot of the performances were lopsided...one person doing too much and selling it too much and the other not doing enough.

I wanted to be really psyched on it, and I was to an extent, but I just wasn't that thrilled by it.

I'm a really big fan of RR, and this to me pales in comparison to his catalog.

My only thought is that he was making a movie that was to mimic a bad movie the way deathwish 4 would be bad. I wish that I would have had those expectations.

And similar to those type films, the trailer is better than the movie.

I gotta see it again on dvd and see what I think then.

Danny Trejo confirmed a 'Machete' sequel Has Been Written

Actor Danny Trejo, who played the main character in “Machete,” confirmed Robert Rodriguez has already penned the script for a sequel.

“I asked him when he was going to write it and he says it’s written, so we can get started pretty quick,” he said to The Press Association on a red carpet even in Los Angeles.

Trejo is very excited with the reception of the movie this year.

“We went all over the world with that movie and people kept having me sign these Machete action figures, it was a lot of fun,” he said. “I don’t even think Robert Rodriguez even expected that reception and now everyone is waiting for Machete 2—so hurry up Robert Rodriguez!”

Terrible news. I couldn't believe they managed to f up the first one but they should have never hired Alba, Rodriguez, Lohan, or even DeNiro. The big names ruined the grindhouse effect and just made it seem stupid. Seagal and Don were great calls along with Cheech but they should have stopped there.
