I am not surprised that anybody from Sideshow didn't say anything about this. There is still plenty of time to make 1,200 of the right design.

Not one response from anybody from Sideshow about this? no surprise.

Keep in mind that, while Sideshow employees do read this board from time to time, the best place to voice your concerns about the product is through Sideshow's customer service forms, emailing them direct, or various other means of contact they list on their site.

While that makes a good disclaimer it is frustrating to see questions like how tall is "X" or what is the item # naming convention answered within 24 hours, while questions about certain products looking unfinished or awkwardly sculpted go unanswered. In either case I took your advice and submitted my question through the link above. If I hear back I will share what I find.

I asked about them fixing the blades 3 weeks ago and they responded to send the question to Ask Sideshow Q&A :dunno

I sent the question a month ago, maybe they are already fixing it or probably just deleted the e-mail right away.

and yes it's a great statue. Hearing everybody saying that it was the best looking one at the show, and that one looks like what is going to be sold, it wasn't a prototype.

Most of us who do check the board semi-regularly are not, in any way shape or form, on the creative teams :duff I can only answer what I know - which is mostly web/sales related. All other questions must be directed to the proper areas - and for production/creative related questions, that's "Ask Sideshow" (if there's no rush on needing an answer) and/or sending it directly to us via the Customer Service form - although they mostly aren't able to answer creative/development questions either, they *are* much better at getting the info to the correct people, as they have weekly meetings with the production team.

All I can really say about anything like this is that it was approved to show by the licensor (in Kratos' case, after many many months of back-and-forth) - although, it does still say 'prototype' so if anything changes, photos will be updated before it ships :duff

Thanks Dusty. I sent my question to Sideshow a few days ago, but I really do appreciate you replying :)

I spent some time today on the Ask Sideshow Q&A and there seems to be a lot of "Any plans for X", "When will X be released" and "What scale is X". I did not however see a single instance of a complaint being addressed. Are they there and I just did not dig deep enough? Are they answered privately and not posted?

Just didn't delve deep enough ;) Although the vast majority of questions are 'will you be doing' , 'give us some hints' , etc (especially the newest ones, as they came from our most recent chat), there are definitely issues addressed, when they arise. Whether they are addressed to everyone's liking, that's a different story - but they do get addressed :duff

Just a few examples:

https://www.sideshowtoy.com/?p=22349

And even if it's not addressed directly, it IS read and processed :duff

Sorry to bring this up again (*ducks head*) and this is in no way an "official" statement, just an observation from a fan of the game (and a fellow internet enthusiast who likes the element of debate!)... I just watched some of the game being played again recently and recalled the debate from this thread ... can't Kratos use the Blades of Athena throughout the whole game if you want to do it that way after getting the godly possessions? I did find this statement about the godly possessions:

"Aphrodite's Garter: In Aphrodite's chamber, look behind the bed and you can jump up to a platform where you will find the garter. Lets you use Athena's Blades instead of Blades of the Exile." - https://wikicheats.gametrailers.com/index.php/God_of_War_III_-_PS3/Godly_Possessions

Yes you can but it makes no sense since one of the staff members in the backstage pass says that he is holding the Blades of Exile. People still would have caught onto the continuity error but it wouldn't have made it obvious. The statue looks damn great but the design of the Exile's are much better than Athena's. Is it possibly that they listened to the complaints 2 months ago and made the change?

Well, I'd argue that it's a matter of personal preference. Apparently some do prefer the Athena Blades or why would they give you the option of switching them back if you want? (again, I don't know about the product decisions, so I can't comment on that here - my debate is purely about the game itself!)
