My two-pack came today and they're awesome! My only complaint is that I feel like the thigh armor should have been longer. But as someone who initially thought these stormies looked stupid, I'm mighty happy. The weathered trooper looks even dirtier than my ANH sandtrooper which is really cool.

I ended up ordering this set from Brian's Toys, which I had never ordered from before. I wasn't planning on getting them but they had a 10% off code for a couple days at the end of January that was good on in-stock items, and for some reason on Hot Toys it was taking off 20%. So the set ended up being $302 shipped and I couldn't resist. It went to sold out before I had a chance to post here about it, unfortunately. I was pretty surprised it even shipped, to be honest!

Also, I am really impressed with the packing job they did, there were like 10 lbs of packing peanuts in the box surrounding the shipper. So yeah, I'm definitely going to keep my eye on them now for figures. Super pleased.

Yeah, Brians Toys is a pretty stellar company. Always been impressed with the service there.

Got my two pack as well. I'm liking them a lot, but I feel like the thigh armor could have benefitted from some Velcro to keep them up. The seem to be a bit loose and drop too low for my taste. I really like the undersuit detail.

Crappy pic, I know, but they look good with the Deathtrooper.

Couple shots showing weathering (really just a touch from waist down) compared to ANH stormie.

Thanks for the comp pics Ton Ton. You mentioned the weathering being from the waist-down. Is there weathering on the belt and cod piece or is it on the leg armor only? I'm thinking of picking up some clean armor pieces to convert the slightly weathered trooper into a "Death Star" TK and just need to know what I would need.
Thanks.

It looked like it was just the thighs, shins, and feet, but I'll double check tonight as it could just be much more subtle in certain spots. One thing people haven't really mentioned is that even though the belt can't go down, the crotch piece can be moved up a bit. Like in the photo above it doesn't look that long to me.

My 2 pack just arrived. Happy I pulled the trigger on these guys. Not sure about the dirty lower body on the regular one. I might seek clean parts to put him with Vader. Love the helmet sculpts.

Aside from the feet, shins, and thighs, I see some subtle weathering on the crotch piece too. Nothing else though (not on helmet, arms, shoulders, hands, chest, belt, butt).

I had a chance to take a couple pictures today. The shoulder pouch is from a Death Trooper Specialist, and the DLT-19 and E-11 are from the Sandtrooper. I wanted to have those extra accessories for more display options.

Easy fix, superglue.

Ok, real easy fix - do what HT does normally, just wrap something around the leg then put the armor over that. I typically use some gorilla glue.........but do this UNDER the undersuit....so if ya rip it, not responsible

I picked up my set from Timewalker over the weekend, just got around to setting them up. A couple of quick pics:

And I don't think anyone has posted a side by side with the original Sandie yet:
R1 Sandtrooper Comparison 001.jpg

There's things I like about both the OT Sandtrooper and the new R1 Stormtrooper. They're different yet similar enough to go on the same shelf without a problem. About the only things I really don't like about the new set is the metal wire portion of the stands won't stay up to support the figures, and the small hanging armor boxes on the hips want to stick straight out. But those are minor issues. One thing I noticed that I haven't heard mentioned yet is that the R1 Stormtroopers have different glove hands compared to the OT ones, the R1 hands have pads, stitch and textured detail that look pretty fantastic, I like them more than the OT Stormy hands.

Great set, looking forward to getting the Death Trooper and Shoretrooper next!

Is there any paint detail/weathering on the heavy blaster? From all the pics I've seen it just looks solid black. Planning to give mine a bit of silver drybrushing when I receive the set.

Yeah, those rubber hardware store gloves must have been super sweaty in the heat.

Several of the ANH sandies had quite different hand armor too - a totally different design to the normal sandie/stormie/RO hand armor. Kind of a flat squared plate with raised lines.
