That's actually a glorious idea. It's not really meant for that, but it works out perfectly..not to mention you still get to show off the name plaque.

I never noticed this before out of all the times I've watched ROTJ. I've watched both these scenes a few times and noticed that when the Emperor first turns to Luke and Vader his feet appear to be resting on foot rest not dangling but supported . Also when Vader lets the Emperor know that Luke is on Endor I see the same thing and its only on the scenes where the emperor throne rotates. I'm guessing that it was only used on those scenes as anything else I've looked at its not there. Guess Hot Toys is accurate after all lol.

I actually did the same with my base. Thought it worked well since my other SW figures have their own bases to match.

I'm not following what you are saying...

Wow, that is just nuts that his feet are that far off the floor that a base that's nearly an inch tall fits so perfectly.

Here's my look at the Hot Toys Emperor. Another nice looking figure, but it's a pain in the arse to get him sitting in the throne nicely. Still havent got it done properly :D

That's because he has his palps way to high up and not slouched enough, it's so easy to futz him I don't see the problem...don't be afraid to ab crunch the old man, he's plastic he can take it.

Just got my deluxe in. Love it. Glad I bought an extra robe from TA. Cutting the bottom stitch helps so much with the robe. I haven’t futzed much but he’s going back in the box until we move next month. Quick pic of what that does to the hood.

Hey man, just wondering what you mean by cutting the bottom stitch helping with the robe? I haven't even removed mine from the package, and I can't remember any talk about bottom stitching. I'm guessing it has something to do with the folds they created with the stitching, like with the hood and sleeves. So there might be some stitching folds in the back of the robe?

You just made my work night Khai! Your reviews are always very top notch and appreciated.

Yes, under the hood part of the robe, there’s a small stitch they used to may it bunch up. Cut that and you’ve got more of the hood that actually covers his head. This is what I think the prototype was when we first saw it. Makes the silhouette all that much better.

The emperor’s forehead is barely seen in the movie. Unfortunately with the stitch it makes the hood too small. This fixes it.

Finally got my Deluxe yesterday... and I think I'm pretty happy with it for the most part. Obviously the most glaring issue is that the figure is just far too short (which only makes the hands seem even more oversized). And the hood on mine also awfully tight out of the box, so I had to remove all the stitches in order make it sit properly. And while the eyes are a pretty dull yellow, the rest of the paint job is much nicer and more subtle than I expected.

Thankfully my Throne doesn't have any major warping on the arms, but I did notice that the overall surface is strangely uneven and has the look of something sculpted from clay (instead of being 3D printed or built from styrene like you'd expect). Which I'm not sure was really the best choice for this. I haven't tried sitting him in it yet, but with his height I can definitely see how it might be a challenge.

And here he is squeezed onto my ESB/ROTJ shelf.

I've been contemplating removing the stitching on the back of the hood as well; it just seems like more of a hindrance than a help. Since removal, are you happy with the result or would you, in hindsight, have left it stitched?

Hmm - not sure about the unevenness. Mine was all ripple-y on the front and I returned it. I understood it was a one-off manufacturing error, but maybe it's wider spread than I thought.
