oops

I did want to damage the suit or at least give it a black wash but, this is a spare sculpt and that would mean that the figure wouldn't be mint should I decide to sell on.

Decided to get this figure when I saw a fellow boardie selling his for the amazing price of about $145. Got it from him yesterday, and earlier today I gave it a blackwash following robbiethepainter's tips. Looks great and I'm really happy, I may not like the costume design that much but I'm sure this would be a great companion piece to the new HT Spidey figure. Will try to post photos soon! :D

I think the price of this guy might shoot up once the new figure is released. Mine's in the post :)

Weathered/bloodied/dirtied up the head even more and gave the suit a light black wash with some watered down acrylics, plus some heavier darker patches to pass for dirt and wear on the suit. It's pretty destroyed by the end of the film and I much prefer it like this than cleaner.

Congrats man, that's a really good price not just for spider man but for any hot toy.

Despite my battle damage/cuts/dirt/blood being more extreme than they are in the film, it combines multiple elements of his damage sustained in the last two fights with The Lizard and a black eye he received earlier in the running time of the film. I used a blu ray copy of the film and a number of screen captures for reference including

So, I would personally argue that although it's not 100% screen accurate, neither is saying 'he never looked like that'

Cheers, bud! Yeah, it's possible for the value appreciation to happen, even if it doesn't, it's a nice figure alright.

Thanks buddy! I agree. $150 for a Hot Toys figure that's just recently released and is of an A-list character especially is hard to resist :)

Spectacular job, Hannibalcaine. I love your work! I just love seeing BD modifications/customs regardless of its accuracy to the film. IMO it gives more life to the figure by making it more realistic, like it's been exposed to elements in the real world.
