Man... Hot Toys really could have had something special here... Here is to hoping they drastically change up this figure before release. As of now it fails.

We can only hope HT initially thought movie will sucks more or less so they didn't put any effort to the figure, hence that resused sculpt. And now they will reconsider it.

I streamed the movie last night ... makes it my 3rd viewing. Just seeing Momoa's face pisses me off about this thing. And I have come so close to ordering it like 6 times because I love the movie so much, trying to stay strong. And patient.

That seems unlikely, as they’ll probably take the same approach they did with Dr. Strange and Ant-Man - i.e., they likely won’t make more than the title character unless it becomes a breakout hit.

I do think the JL version was a bit much, although I guess it could be argued it was designed to be more battle armor than an everyday outfit. I just think a happier medium could have been found, as the Aquaman suit seems almost plain in comparison. I found it odd given some of her other outfits (jellyfish dress!) in the movie. I suppose HT could give her the tiara and a weapon to bling her up a bit. That plus a smart material choice and the idealized female figure silhouette could still result in a home run.

You know, the length of her hair makes me think they'll go rooted instead of sculpted. Are we going to have to call the paramedics for you if that happens?

I would be pleasently surprised if hot toys go with sculpted hair for this but based on past history we will be getting doll hair most likely.

Frankly the headsculpt doesn't bother me, it's not perfect but I like it enough.
The hair would only bother me if I planned on getting both the JL and Aquaman version, I don't.

The real problem for me is costume, the golden plates on the hips are WAY too big on the figure and make him look like he's got lady hips!
Combine that with the fact that the torso should be a little more muscular and the silhouette is off.

I actually went with large breast suntan but i'm sure medium will look great. But yeah that's exactly what I used. There's also this guy that sells these stands and if you ask him he can change to nameplate to say Mera.

I thought about cutting the string off the waist emblem and crown and glue it to the suit, do you think it would work? Glad I went with e suntan body your look great. Did you try the crown on

I'm sure it would definitely be doable to take the emblem off and glue it yeah. The main problem I have with the crown is the color of gold just looks super cheap. What I might do is take the emblem and crown and paint them to make them look less plasticky and more shiny. But to be honest I kinda dig the look without the crown a little more anyways.

Will someone just announce a mera already lol I have a feeling Amber didn't want any merch like figures or statues (save for the dc collectibles piece). I heard that for that piece the artists didn't get any 3D scans of her and had to make do with photo reference

the barbie stuff works great ,i thought this head sculpt was pretty close ,a bit amy adams perhaps ,but a little amber as well

hair can be darkened with a red permanent marker
