Just got around to play the game last night and loved it.

How epic is the Nurburgring Mercedes tests? Easily my favourite event so far. The 2nd stage with the SLS is brutal. ____ it's quick. Took me 3 hours last night but I finally silvered all of them. Driving the absolute ____ing pants out of it too, just four seconds behind a gold 1 second in each sector. That whole event goes to show exactly what the whole game should be like. Stunning car, proper sim handling and a gorgeously rendered track. The car is so pinpoint accurate to real life. Hangs on to every corner at ridiculous 130mph+speeds and can be driven full chat out of them. Drop to second though and jump on the gas completely out of a turn and it'll hang the ass out for you to correct - but it's still controllable. Epic car.
Annoyed me so bloody much because on the full circuit, I had this hammering lap where I was way in front of overtaking the cars at each different sector, just smashing through the corners, easily a gold contention lap but just before the long stretch, I snagged the tiniest edge of grass on the track and it started slipping sideways. Kept on it, dropped it down a gear and drifted through the whole next corner before finally gaining control - and still a bit angular, one of the other cars hits me and I spin, straight into the wall with no option but the 'reverse and on the gas' Not ____ing happy jan.
That's another thing that annoys me about the game on those special trophy races. Hit them with the slightest touch and you're disqualified, but yet they can annihilate you out of turns and nothing happens! Also ____s me how the game sends you flat on into walls that you can't turn out of. Especially when doing burnouts! Anyone noticed how it always leads you into a wall to stop you doing the burnout, so it doesn't get the de-pixelation from behind the smoke. Annoying as all hell because you HAVE to reverse and can't just turn out of it on the gas!

I'm trying to Gold all of them. I got silver on my 6th try or so. You must be some kind of uber-savant because a lot of fellow players I've talked to online and off have been frustrated by these tests.

I wasn't trying to hard for gold on any, I was just making a handful attempts to see how many points I could get. As for doing it I will say that using the wheel helps plus not going to fast, which you can get a better feel for with the wheel.

I think Forza spoiled me. They introduced that reverse time option so it allowed me to drive like a mad man.

well you can see clear how GT5 graphics are way better.
forza 3 is a great game but GT5 is way better.

200 of the cars in GT5 do look better than forzas 400. But the road side detail is horrendous on GT5 compared to Forza 3. I still think overall forza 3 is a better looking game. The shadows and screen tearing are lame on GT5.

I can't agree with you more. I really love this game. The Collector's Edition is just prefect and the game is awesome. I can't stop playing it. Great unboxing and quick review SOLIDSNAKE!

I think forza is a superb game but when you race round one of the city tracks in a premium car with air brakes.... Its simply stunning.
My only disappointment is the lack of a few of my favourite cars.
2 tvrs, not enough lambo's and ferrari are not that well represented from 1000 cars and wheres the 355???
I get the feeling there will be massive updates and i know a patch is due for online damage.

I'm still on the fence on getting this game. I would like to actually get it to play it online with a few of my friends. How's the online play? Possible to just race with 3-4 of my friends at the same time or is it just 1vs1 type of races?

Good to see that I wasn't the only one hoping for a tree fitty five! Only the best sounding and arguably epitome of a good Ferrari sportscar, and it's been left out!

I heard somewhere the multiplayer in GT5 involves a lengthy lobby code or something which links you to your friends...
On another note, anyone else feel that the lack of features for standard cars is ruining this game? I can't change my wheels or take a photograph of my 2000 Cobra R? What gives!?
