The best 'screen accurate interior I have seen is in Jacks bat. he also makes the most accurate afterburner and exhaust tips.
All of the replicas (with the exception of two I know of) are based on the Returns car. The 89 had a bigger butt. Jay O shaved 4" off both back fenders to allow easier transportation.

I have been researching the 89 for around 6 years now and have corresponded with the Art Director in Batman, Terry Ackland-Snow. I have also spoken with John Evans and Andy Smith (the special effects engineers responsible for the cars).
John and Andy are the two guys on the right of my autographed pic above. Thanks to John for getting the pic autographed by the team in the pic - minus Andy (soon to be rectified).

I saw one 89 years ago I think it was on an opel car, I missed the chance to buy it now I see several people sell these 89 cars.
I would like one. I would like a screen acurate suit 1st.

Wow.... i'm surprised you even remember seeing one at all that long ago. Especially since it was before Batman himself had been created.... :cuckoo:

I dunno what your on about but the opel replica I saw was about 5 years ago, it was well done but small.

:rotfl

Right over his head.:lol

Yep, Kevins Kit. One of the straightest and best kits on the market. I would highly recommend anyone who is thinking of a kit, to consider going with this one.
Pity it's full sized, mine will have to be about 3/4 length (to fit in the cave LOL). That's why mines will be scratch built.
Thanks for the info. Every little helps.

would you guys give me a list of people who build them ?
So I can contact them myself to see how much they charge

After scouring the net and talking to few builders, this is what I got.

Basically what I got are. Their homepages are linked on these links.
Kevin Patnode https://www.1989batmobilekits.com/KevinPatnode.html
Doug Hines https://www.1989batmobilekits.com/DougHines.html

There are two others but I've been told by many people to stay away from them. I won't mention who since I hear they harrass the heck out of you if you ever come across them. These are the links I received about the other two from my friend who's also an avid fan.

I believe the canadian mentioned in this link is another one to avoid. Not 100% sure.

Thanks man.
I really appreciate the few links you send me.
I am currently in contact with Doug Hines. Doug seems pretty cool.

But I still want to talk to a few people who can give me more advice as to who to avoid and so forth. So i can keep myself safe I guess hahaha.

Misfits didn't scour the net enough...

The Canadian kit is the best kit available and the straightest as evident by its flawless glossy black finish..one can't hide waves in gloss black,
however as those envious of the CDN 89 like to put it down because their kits can't compare -one should really talk to all players before
'assuming anything' .

:clap

Would you be able to direct me to the one you are talking about ?

This has to be Don (the Canadian in question), since you are obviously claiming to have the best Kit. You are the only supplier I know who does this and while your kit MIGHT be good.... the best? Think there must be a little bias in your statement. As for "kits cant compare" you must know that is untrue.

Since there are only a few suppliers out there I would check them all out and some of their previous customers. If it all seemed fine, only then would I part with any cash.

Of course mr a ..whatever you say...since you've never personally dealt with the CDN, inquired or even put your opinion aside, then one would assume you hold bias of your own and prefer that style of thinking. Lets look at the pictures and website links shall we and let people decide for themselves...

There is a guy in Sweden who built the best replica i have seen so far (and he has a Van Halen tribute band!). Maybe not an option for you because it is Europe, but it looks great:

This car was stolen some months ago :(..

But it leaves me wondering - how _____*ing dumb can a person be??!!! Stealing a one-of-a-kind batmobile??!! Idiots!

Funny thing is that the guy who owns the car got every material for free through sponsors he picked up!

If you go on youtube and search for "meningen med livet batmobile" you'll find and interview showing his entire batman collection!

The Swedish fellow's 89 is quite impressive...impressive in the fact he sculpted it from the ground up and impressive that he drives/drove it
through those narrow european streets...quite a feat.
Also impressive is the fact he appears to have an open mind and appreciates all forms of creativity...

( I found each one of these links with the exception of the doug site to be extremely biased...kevins in particular who has never seen the CDN's kit in person nor has kevin ever done any business dealings with the CDN but he sure has his nose right up there sniffing. Now mr A in all honestly don't uou find kevin's heavily biased- yes or no?
