I know exactly who it'll be.

She was conceived as a female version of him.

I mostly hated the voice acting/writing... could be due to translation/language issues. But FFXII had some great voices and better delivery of script.

I really need some HT FF...

Out of all the FFXIII-2 hubbub, it's the new footage of Versus XIII that really piqued my interest. Looks like a dark and gritty Kingdom Hearts.

Honestly, I don't look forward to spending a ton of time with XIII's cast of characters and would rather just skip out to Versus XIII instead.

Lightning's voice actor was a touch boring, her monotone, but I think she was just trying to copy her Japanese voice actor. I do hope she returns for XIII-2 though.

And also regarding her outfit in that trailer, it doesn't look like Guardian Corps. style to me. It looks more kind of spiritual, the armor and feathery half-skirt thing, and the music, kind of reminded me of Orphan's Cradle.

I do wish Square Enix would stop with the feathers. I am so sick of floating feathers.

I love the direction of Versus, definitely, have been looking forward to that more than any SE project.

Yeah probably not GC, since there is no more Sanctum (or at least, hopefully not after all of that mess). In that case, no more Psicom either, well, they probably won't be called Psicom anyways.

And feathers... I mean... it was fine for Crisis Core... but I agree it's getting out of hand here.

anyone ever complete a 1/6 sephiroth i saw wips pics but nothing after that i would love to do one its a dream project

My goodness. I am now posting at a Final Fantasy XIII site and these people grew up on the Final Fantasy series - and they are so freaking obnoxiously insane! First of all EVERYONE is either gay or lesbian or bisexual (no surprise there, thanks Japan), and second they are a load of _______s! They throw gay insults at each other like confetti at Mardi Gras, and they're giving me so much ____ over my real name! I literally have about 20 enemies already just because my name is Cloud. They're so nuts, they have this art section where people draw the most gay-looking anime boys I have EVER seen, I mean these are girls without breasts.

I look at it all and I just gape in wonder at the MONSTERS Square Enix has created.

And no, I am not homophobic. If they were just gay, tootsie fruitsy fine with me. But they're so incredibly hostile... I mean you take the worst apples from this site, multiply them by 50 and make them all homosexual and you get this Final Fantasy XIII forum.

That's why you should stay here with us...with us...with us...with us...

with us............

:lol I'm not going to stay at that FFXIII site very long, just long enough for them to know they didn't scare me off. Besides, it's making me really not like Final Fantasy!

Wait! I am really happy I just found this thread. Ill talk final fantasy with anyone. Statue wise I have: Yuna Wedding Dress, Judge Gabranth and Cloud 1/4 scale, was pissed when Sephiroth got canceled and I have the Final Fantasy VIII Dance Scene Diorama

Sorry about the other thread, seems like a bummer, doesnt surprise me though, call me crazy but I felt uncomfortable with the fang/vanille relationship at times. I also didnt like the Snow Sera relationship. I am assuming its a cultural thing, and maybe Sera is just supposed to look tiny but it seemed like she looked really young and underage for someone of Snows stature. So, doesnt surprise me some of those fans might have awkward relational outburst

My gosh, Snow and Serah look SO wrong together. Fang and Vanille didn't bother me though, they had more of a sister relationship than lesbian. But don't google "FFXIII lesbian" anything because you'll find so much Lightning/Fang, Fang/Vanille, Vanille/Serah, etc. crap.

The reason it doesn't surprise me so many FF fans are gay is because first of all the way Tetsuya Nomura designs the male characters, in that Japanese fetish girly-boy way. Cloud Strife is a prime example. Then look at Vaan from FFXII, ugh. I often search for Cloud Strife stuff on eBay but I always get tons of fan-made homosexual mangas. No idea how that stuff gets published. It's all very perverted.

And the fact that FFXIII has two "strong" females (Fang and Lightning) people automatically assume they are lesbians and that is unfair, but plays to the already homosexual fanbase perfectly.

I haven't checked that site in over a day and I unbookmarked it, and I am glad to be gone. My appreciation for FF is coming back. :)

I'm not sure how niche this yaoi culture is in japan... but it seems to be mostly girls into that stuff. Nomura's designs are very visual kei, j-pop influenced... which gathers a bunch of fangirls. And fangirls are insane.

I hate it too, but whatever... there are people who love that fan-made stuff and I can just choose to ignore it. It's not canon anyways. I like fan-made stuff that has reason within the canon... but most of it is just devolved into porn.

At that site it was a healthy mix of male and female. Both, majority being gay. And it was an English site. I always get my Japanese wording mixed up when I say things like "yaoi" so I just say girly-boy. I think it is quite popular though. Most male anime characters look very pretty and androgynous.

As of late I have been confused by the character designs. I feel like a lot of the male characters are being demasculated. I was so confused at the ending of XII, all the marketing was aimed at Vaan but in the end I felt like the main male lead should have been Basch. My sisters and I always joke about Vaan, after all those adventures and time together, he still blows off Penelo and its like best friends forever and I wanna be a sky pirate, balthier takes his ship back and Vaan is right back where he started at the begginning of the story, he has nothing, acheived nothing and is still wearing that tummy vest.

The males in XIII also drove me crazy. Being a guy, I was anticipating putting Snow in my party, hes big, jacked, wears a cool beenie. Then they made him a little cry baby over a ten year old girl, awkward. What made me more frustrated all game was that they made Fang stronger than him, physically and emotionally. Why is a girl in a dress with beads and sandles my bruiser. See, and its fang I felt had definite gender issues. Sure Lighting was strong, but she was closed off to everyone, very professional. I felt fang was very masculine and exerting strong emotional control over little sensitive Vanille. I dont mind a strong female, I just want a strong male character in my team too.

Ahh... fighting demographics...

You can't sell FF to a Gears of War crowd.

Vaan was just a spectator, you, in a world of bigger things. They tried something different, some people liked it, some didn't.

I didn't play XII but I kind of know what you mean about XIII. Personally I liked Sazh a lot, and he was mourning his 4 year-old son, not a ten year old girl. But he just wasn't worth keeping in my party. His stats couldn't compare with Lightning's or Fang's. Snow too, was weak compared to Fang. And I didn't like Hope (he was the whiny girly-boy of this game), so I kept Lightning, Fang and Vanille in my party. I do feel the focus was more on females in that game than males, partly because of the female protagonist.

But you should know, Fang was conceived as a male character. It was only when they changed Lightning from a flirtatious, sexy lead to a stoic, cold, serious character that they changed Fang into a female. They gave her the sex appeal that they took from Lightning.

And of course I can't complain about that. Fang was my favorite character in the game because she was such a girl power figure.

EDIT: Oh I'm sorry I read that wrong. You said Snow, not Sazh. Snow was I think an attempt to put a big tough guy in the game, but he was kind of pathetic, letting Lightning deck him twice (that I remember) and madly devoted to Serah, his teeny tiny fiancee who looks oh-so-wrong with him.

Cool, Good Points, I didnt know Fang was originally designed for a male role. I played with the exact same party too: Lightning, Fang, Vanille. Naturally as a boy this was a little frustrating for me. I played X-2 and that was enough of a girly adventure I hope they never repeat. I just want gender neutral. I was surprised Capcom got away with making Shaz the way they did. Why is the only black guy in the franchise since seven, break dancing and fighting with guns and has a chocobo in his hair. I did like the whole mourning his son and fighting for his family but he did seem goofy. Hope, I did like his little encouragement scenes with Lightning but thats it. I wouldnt fight alongside a little boy who throws a boomerang. I also thought it looked funny having Lightning and Fang tear it up with a little boy casting healing spells.

Of all the FF games I played I thought this had some stronger Japanese elements other ones missed. I have sisters and watch a few asian dramas with them and that really opened my eyes to some of the story telling techniques in FF. Like the whole team concept and declarations of "fighting" to get past thier personal challenges. Nevertheless, I think 10 was great because the characters told their stories calmly and through actions, the story slowly opened up. In XIII, I felt there was a lot of overacting, especially with Snow and Hope. Yeah, I hated that snow was always getting decked by lightning and just crying about Serah.

Got these in the mail today:

For mine and Bliss' cosplay. That would be mine on the left and hers on the right.

Sorry that I could not for the life of me get good focus on them. This is the best of like 15 pictures.
