I just don't like the price on these figures. I'm actually used to paying this much if not more for collectibles, but in this case I don't think your getting your moneys worth. I just feel like it's arrogant on Enterbays part to charge more than hot toys for there figures. I know hot toys charges alot for there products to and some more than this but you also get alot more. I just feel if hot toys made this, we would not only get a better figure but we would probably pay less to. I would love for a company to truly compete with hot toys. A company dominating any market the way hot toys does is always a bad thing, but I don't think enterbay is doing as good of a job as they could be right now.

You and me both, buddy. I don't see myself collecting too much so I'd just be weary of what to pick up anyways. The main thing is that they don't have primary distributors like Hot Toys using Sideshow in the states. I'm not sure why... but anyhow... they ship directly from them in Hong Kong out. So they charge for all that extra shipping per unit.

If Hot Toys did the same, I'm sure their figures would probably be $200 to $280 on the norm for the current $170 to $220 priced figures. DX box sets? Forget about it.

ahh that makes sense. I was kinda like WTF when I made the comparison. Enterbay needs to get on that if their going to stay a float. I think hot toys has made it pretty clear that they don't want any competition.

Yeah, if you order stuff from overseas, they all go by EMS or something like that and it ships by weight. Easily another $25 to $40 per box set of collectibles. It's a killer.

Here's the deal, figures aren't priced by 'what's in the box', they're priced by what the cost of investment is on the figure, versus how many units you will produce.

The last part is key, and is THE deciding factor on price, and it's the part that no one takes into account when they _____ about the price. If my Batman figure costs $120,000 to manufacture, and I can sell 8000 pieces, then my cost is $15. If my Scarface figure costs $50,000 and I can sell 3000 pieces, then my cost is $17.

Scarface is more expensive because I will sell less.

Batman costs double to manufacture because of all the pieces and parts but I will sell a crap-load more because it's Batman, and all of a sudden my cost is less. Hot Toys wouldn't TOUCH the Scarface license because it won't push enough units.

And for the record, I'm low-balling these manufacturing costs by a fair margin.

As far as getting your money's worth out of this stuff. . . man, we passed that A LONG time ago. Figures used to be $30-$40, then Hot Toys came along and started charging $80-$90, then $130, then $150, then Sideshow was like "Jeez, we're charging $50, we could charge a lot more" now we're at double that. Hot Toys CAUSED the price increase in the first place. Even Dragon figures used to be $30, and now they're $60, $70, even some up over $100. There's no 'VALUE' in any of this stuff anymore.

I really don't think I'm getting my money's worth on ANY of this stuff. I just do it because I like the characters. I mean, $200 on a little plastic replica of Jack Sparrow. . . get the ____ outta here, man. It's crazy when you really think about it.

Because Sideshow has 'exclusive' distribution with Hot Toys, meaning it works both ways. Sideshow isn't going to distribute anyone else, as far as 1/6 goes. Hot Toys hates Enterbay and is making sure to squish EB under their thumb, and it it means signing exclusive deals with distributors, then so be it.

And before you say it, we all know Medicom is irrelevant, and I'm pretty sure that distro deal was signed before the deal with Hot Toys.

Your argument completely contradicts itself, in one point you argue that all of these figures are over priced (which I would agree with you), but then you argue that EB is justified for over charging because the license is riskier. So which is it??? I realize that the licenses that hot toys takes are usually not that risky, and a company like EB will need to capitalize on those paticular licenses to stay a float. All I was saying is that they have no right to charge marginally higher than hot toys for an inferior product thats just stupid business.

You're confusing my value judgment versus the actual manufacturing cost.

I don't think any of these figures are worth $200 to me, that doesn't mean it doesn't COST them that much to make them.

You thinking that EB is inferior to HT is a value judgment, it's just your opinion, it has no bearing on how much it cost EB to manufacture that figure.

LOL at EB inferior to HT in terms of paint apps on the sculpt EB's are much more natural and detailed. And EB' tailoring has been consistently better quality and material than HT.

HT's licenses are much more lucrative PLUS unlike EB who have a history of actually making 'limited edition' runs, HT produces huge amounts comparatively thus managing to so call make each unit cost 'cheaper'

However honestly EB products are much cheaper than HT on retail from source. The prices of EB items minus shipping is comparative to HT prices and sometimes marginally less
