British films (gritty ones)

I know the members of this forum are mostly American and probably havn't seen any of these but i love my British films ( i don't mean the likes of Harry Potter)...
Here are some great ones in opinion:

Snatch ? Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels ? There both done by Guy Ritchie, who just did Sherlock Holmes. These two are gritty films. Pure 100% British as well !!!

Trainspotting depicts life in Scotland, though. Right?

Anyway, I also hated Dog Soldiers. I had high expectations, but thought the film itself was pretty terrible. I'll stick with the Howling and American Werewolf in London for my wolfman fixes.
