Seems like I'm reading a ton of confusion over the end of the game. Here's my take on what happened.

Spoiler:

I've read people who think it's Tim or Azrael at the end, or that Bruce is still actively using fear toxin as part of his arsenal but I didn't see any clue that he'd have had a chance to gas those thugs at the end. Here's how I see it.

The theme of the game is fear. Gotham fears Scarecrow, criminals fear Batman, and Batman fears losing control. Crane's new gas exposes your worst fear. For Batman, with Joker's blood now in him, it's becoming Joker. Just a crazy mass murderer with no rules. Once Batman is able to face that fear, he can understand and overcome it, locking Joker away in his own mind once and for all. As a result, he no longer has any fear at all. So when Crane gasses him again, it has no effect, he's now immune to fear altogether, the ultimate Batman. He then becomes fear itself.

At the end, criminals assume Batman is dead and gone so they have nothing to fear. They're willing to kill with no consequence. Then Batman shows up, and he doesn't even need to gas or fight them anymore. They've already been exposed to Crane's toxin so now that they see Batman still exists, they literally can't commit crime. The lasting effects of the toxin kicks in and they go all Clockwork Orange sick and just have a breakdown. Once enough criminals start spreading the news that he's still alive, he becomes urban legend again and doesn't ever need to actually do anything. Before a criminal can hurt someone, their worst fears kick in (the legend of the Batman) and simply prevents it.

See when you go into the missions, and it gives a percentage to all the side missions and main story and then an overall percentage? The Overall Percentage has to hit 100%

Also, after the main story is complete they give a chance to go finish all the side missions before the game ends.

I know that, but I'm trying to avoid that. I want to get to the "final stage" of the game (point of no return) while having all done as far as side missions and all of that. So I'm assuming there's a part in the game in which you can not go back.

I really don't think there are multiple ways of looking at it, it's pretty straight forward but that's my opinion. The only people left in the city when the cloud burst exploded were criminals. They're all going to be affected by the Toxin whenever they're greatest fear kicks in. We know Batman is the only person who's overcome it, shocking Crane in the process. We know Bruce isn't dead and is still going out as Batman after Knightfall thanks to the end of the game and him straight up telling Gordon there was still work to do. We know Azrael left Gotham to go deal with the order.

In the long run, Crane was a hero though. He, an Arkham shrink, cured Batman and inadvertently cured the city's crime problem.

Nope. You CAN go back, even after the main story is done. The only thing you'll miss is "you-know-who" wont be there to make commentary of your missions.

So I've been posting in this thread the most but have been avoiding it for the last month or so just so I could stay away from all the hoopla before the game dropped. I finished up the main story last night (still working on side missions).

What a great game, loving every second of it. Probably my favorite of the 3 from Rocksteady just because of the amount of stuff you can do.

That's one thing that I'm actually a little disappointed by. WB had an amazing companion app for Arkham City, where you could go through, check off which Riddler stuff you collected, and so forth. I really hope they do one for Knight. As for right now, GamesRadar is where I went for the previous three installments, but I don't know that they've updated their site with the info, yet.

Just jump out of the car and interrogate every green glowing thug you see, they give you all the riddle locations.

Joker received way too much attention in this game, and the anticipated boss Battle with Jason Todd (who honestly didn't think that was him before the game came out) was a joke. I'm also surprised Scarecrow never tried to get revenge on the guy that mauled his face off, but he's willing to gas a city instead. Also, why on earth would a game with D__k Grayson and Barbara have no interaction between them, and make Tim Drake and Barbara get married? Makes no sense. The Batmobile........just...one minute you're great and the next you're making me do platforming and repetitive tank fights. Definitely not game of the year by any means, but not a bad game either. I liked the game, but some choices in it were really annoying.

Great soundtrack this game though, especially this track.

Drunk Batmobile anyone???

call me crazy but the batmobile is my favorite part of the game, guess I prefer car combat to predator encounters. The encounters are still there but they aren't as wide spread as they were in previous games. I also prefer driving to gliding, but these are just my preferences.

To bad the scarecrow nightmare missions seem so similar to each other. I haven't played the third one yet but I'm guessing it's going to be identical to the first 2. Something along the lines of a no walls bottomless fire pit type track would be been cool, instead of the city just looking like its on fire, but they are free so you can only complain so much lol

so far I'm loving the game, like others MB totally scared the crap out of me. I love how you can hear it echo through the city.

Deathstroke Most Wanted

Boss fight? It's not difficult, but words cannot describe how much I hate it. I despised the first Arkham Knight vehicle fight, and that was enough for me, so, to have to do it all over again, but on Miagani Island, is not ****ing appealing to me in the least. I've already taken down two of the Cobra drones, but it's tedious as ****, and I fear I may lose my sanity if I have to sit in the Batmobile for another half hour waiting for them to start spreading out.
