Marvel imitates some old popular X-men cover? Bloody bastards can't even create anything of their own!

I actually think it's pretty cool. That's got to be one of the three most well-known comic covers from that period (alongside Spider-Man #1 and the Death of Superman). Frankly, the Avengers never had a comic cover that important. It's a neat little reference to Marvel comics.

So do you think it was a hat tip to the old fold-out cover or a jab at Fox? Ha

Probably both, a had tip and a jab. It's like hey look, we're doing with other characters what you guys didn't do in 15 years! Oh, and good luck with all those black leather costumes :wink1:

Doom patrol *cough* Doom patrol.

:lol

Well, I though Avengers #1 was pretty important, did the 1st Avengers had any references to that?

Spawn #1 was pretty famous too. And Knightfall, Batman #497, Bane breaking Batman in half :lol Oh, and that Thanos The Infinity Gauntlet cover is pretty iconic too. I hope Marvel uses that as the main poster for the Infinity War film.
