I think that the star trek people only wanted money if they continued to use the masks for H4+ which is why they made their own mask. But I have also heard that Don Post were going to make converted Kirk masks for the filming of H4, but the film team were in a rush to get finished by halloween...

For the costume I'd use red acrylic paint with a tiny bit of blue to give it a more realistic colour. I'd then use fake blood for on your arms and hands or you could dry adding a little water to the paint. I got some fake blood this year to see what it's like, and on some things it has dried...

From the pictures I've seen so far it looks like Michael just smelt a fart. I hope we get better pics soon.
