My Birds of Prey.

First of 3 DC Cover Girls statues I ordered to make my New 52 Birds of Prey section: Black Canary, Batgirl and Katana. Strangely enough, if I were to get a fourth I wouldn't go for Ivy or even Starling. I want Strix.

I turned automatic non-payment processing on, so I never even have to worry about it. After someone wins a bid, if they don't pay within 4 days, eBay will automatically open a non-payment case, send the buyer a warning, and then close the case and refund the fee to me after a few more days.

While many out of stock collectibles go for very high prices on eBay, you also have to look at whether they sell. I've been keeping track of a number of pieces I'd like to get, and all I see are the same 2-5 items that stay there for months without selling, because I (and I assume others) aren't...

Got Hot Toys Gamora today from BBTS. It was quite expensive, and I had to pay customs despite them writing 'gift' on the package: $189 + $20 shipping + $50 duty + $9 handling fees * 1.4 currency exchange to $CDN = $375 CDN I think this will be my last Hot Toys.

I try to buy new, but many of the pieces long sold out are only available used. As for the price, every figure I've ever looked for has been more expensive used than the MSRP of the item when it was still available.

My first custom piece, an illuminated Twi'lek. I based the design on the decorations you can get in-game in Star Wars: The Old Republic. Turned out pretty decent.

I wonder how hard/costly it would be to create a custom snow base. It's really just a white cover with rocks on top of that base..

But there is. A full scale figure is considered by most to be 6 feet tall. So: 1:4 = 18" 1:6 = 12" 1:10 = 7.2" 1:12 = 6" Now this is related to a full grown man. You have to take into account the height of your particular figure, plus the base.

Got some Terminator busts today.

I've been thinking about pre-ordering the 2x troopers set + Rey for a little diorama.. but counting the cost, plus shipping, plus conversion into $CDN... ends up around $1012. Ugh :/ Not sure at this point.

To me, one of the main rules I use to decide whether to get a piece or not is that I need to know and relate to the character it represents. I would not get a figure of a character I don't know, even if the piece looked nice. But I often see YouTube videos of people who don't even know the name...

Statues by far. To me visible articulations make them much less appealing as a display piece.
