I agree with this as well. It's very dishonest and infuriating to have your customers wait months for a new product and ship them something that is used. This happened to me with the MKIV w/Gantry and I was furious. The item was still listed on their website - so they had new ones in stock...

You're right - they'd probably sell even more figures if they were "open box" items with small discounts. I personally don't care if it's used or not (unless if I'm paying for and expecting a new item) and would gladly pay a little less for an open box figure.

Same thing happened to me last year with Sideshow when I pre-ordered the Iron Man MKIV w/Suit-up Gantry. I received the item in a random non-shipper box with questionable padding and the figure inside had none of the usual plastic wrappings. One of the hands was also crushed into the Styrofoam...

Haha - yeah that's pretty much the only reason why I like SS. The payment plan is super-convenient. Oh yeah and they have nice photos on their website. I literally can't think of any other reasons. Thanks for the info.

Anyone know how much Sideshow charged for shipping for this thing? I'm debating between BBTS and SS. I recently had a bad experience with SS but have never ordered from BBTS before. Kind of hard to beat $4 shipping.

Ugh - sorry to hear that. My situation has been pretty similar. Quick update on my situation. Sideshow agreed to exchange the figure but they said it was a "one-time courtesy". It was a giant pain in the ass dealing with them. There's only one person who oversees the returns and exchanges...

I initially thought that too but someone definitely opened it up and took the figure out to look at it/display it - most of the plastic normally wrapped around the IM figure is missing. I'll keep you guys posted on what happens.

Does anyone still collect Vinylmation? I have about 30 9-inch and a few hundred 3 inch figures. I noticed they kind of still have them in the parks but nothing like 5-7 years ago.
