    Hot Toys Grand Moff Tarkin

Hey all, Has anyone tried to remove the rank badge from Tarkin's tunic? I'm wondering if it can be removed without leaving residue or a hole.

Has any one been able to confirm whether or not the visor is transparent or just cast as part of the helmet?

Rubbing alcohol or denatured alcohol will remove enough of the weathering to change up the appearance. If carefully used, acetone can remove most of the weathering without damaging the underlying paint. HTH

He looks outstanding and he's a must-have, but I agree, no way those boots should be plastic.

    Hot Toys Sandtrooper MMS 295

Thanks, guys. I shot three light coats of Gunze Mr. Color flat white followed by another of Mr. Color gloss white through an Iwata airbrush. I mixed a grey to re-spray the forward trapezoid and extend the grin (grimace?) slightly. The brow trim had me stumped. :) I wanted it to be fully...

    Hot Toys Sandtrooper MMS 295

Hi Kool, Similar, yes, but not equally accurate. I see considerable differences in the layouts of the two helmets- look at the differences from the frown down as well as the shapes of the 'tubes'. The eye shapes are considerably better on HT's as well, very similar to Marmit's bucket. The HT...

    Hot Toys Sandtrooper MMS 295

The fact is that HT's Sandtrooper is not only far more dimensionally accurate, but the fit and finish of the helmet and armor are light years ahead of Sideshow's troopers. The SS troopers' helmets and armor pieces are full of mold parting lines and part seams all of which are concealed on the...

    Hot Toys Sandtrooper MMS 295

Thanks, Hoody. I'm going for this screen-used setup. Screen shots show the radio box on the lower left to be rotated and the stinger is missing so I replicated that setujp on the conversion.
