Took the plunge and ordered. Looks a great piece at a decent price. Also had a $50 international collector code which I used.

Don't think so, because on the shorter one Skeletors hand is round the 'grip' piece of the staff. If you look closely or on the Sideshow website, you can see it. However that grip doesn't appear so high up on the newer version.

I got it from an eBay seller, see https://stores.ebay.com/Heavens-Gate-Metal-Works Solid piece. It was unpainted, so I decided to rough it up and try and make it look rusty. Pics probably don't show the paint off well. They sell other comic/movie related metal works.
