Premium Format Jack the Ripper Sideshow Original Premium Format

I've received mine and it's out of the box. My first impressions are that the detail of the statue seem a little softer then I recall, the tentacles coming out of the stomach being a prime example. It could be due to the amount of gloss finish on them. My biggest gripe about the statue is the...

Premium Format Jack the Ripper production peek

I'm not too disappointed about the lack of an exclusive but the price does seem a little high. I will probably end up getting him though, I thought he was one of the most well sculpted pieces I had seen at Sideshow's booth at SDCC.

    Can't wait to see Anderson!

Beautiful work! Minor quibble is that the armor does not look quite as bulky as it should but it is still a damn fine representation!

Baroness Premium Format [High Res Pics in First Post]

Just a word of warning, co-worker of mine got his today and the attachment of the arms on his figure was not ideal. The magnets at the attachment points are weak due to the fabric material covering the arms getting in the way. I recommend boosting the strength of the attachment points with...

    Judge Dredd 1:4 scale diorama

Yeah, pretty much agree with all your points. I would say he was much better known for his work on Slaine, his take on the character being the defining one. It suited his art style much more.

    Judge Dredd 1:4 scale diorama

Bisley did indeed render Judge Death for the first Batman/Judge Dredd teamup, Judgement on Gotham. I may not care much for Bisley's take on Dredd, I would say he is still pretty popular amongst some circles. He did just recently do a Dredd cover for 2000AD. I did not care for it though....

    Judge Dredd 1:4 scale diorama

Yeah, agreed. I'm also confused by their upcoming Judge Death, it's not Bisley's take on the character. Looks kind of like a Greg Staples rendition. They're going to look kinda weird on a shelf together.

    Judge Dredd 1:4 scale diorama

I would prefer to see reviews on the piece as well, but I'm already comitted to the exclusive. I saw what I assume is the proto at Comiccon and it looked decent. My main problem with the statue is it's based on Simon Bisley's take on Dredd and he wasn't high on my list of favored Dredd artists...

Look great so far! Can't wait to see it all completed. Do you think you'll do Anderson as well?

    Hot Toys 2012 DREDD figure?

To me it's a miracle this movie even got funded. Imagine trying to convince financial backers to cough up money to make a remake of a failed big budget movie of a character most American audiences have no emotional attachment to starring no big name actors. I admire the ambition and lament the...

    Hot Toys 2012 DREDD figure?

The problem with cult classic status is that we'll always be relegated to being semi-underground. Only those in the know will appreciate it, thus the word "cult" in the term. Typically a movie does less business in following weeks. If Dredd only did about 7 mil in it's first week the drop off...

    Hot Toys 2012 DREDD figure?

A rule of thumb I've heard, and I really don't know how accurate it is, is that a movie needs to make about three times it's budget to be profitable. Movies also require huge amounts of money to promote, sometimes the budget for advertising can exceed the budget of a movie. But the real profit...

    Hot Toys 2012 DREDD figure?

It's a pity but I don't think the movie will make money. I'm a massive Dredd fan and although the movie is decent it's not hitting it's marks with the American audiences. I think the last hope will be DVD sales, and that will be a long shot. Only 12" Dredd figure we'll see is from ThreeA. But if...

    Judge Dredd 1:4 scale diorama

From what I understand it will be a more faithful reboot but could very well not be the movie we true Dredd fans have been waiting for. The scope of the movie is much smaller than the Stallone version. It's more like that Indonesian movie that was released recently , The Raid: Redemption in...

    Judge Dredd 1:4 scale diorama

In looking more closely at the helmet, I'm not sure I like the combination of the Stallone movie design and the traditional comic design.
