Star Ace Toys - "The Bride" from Kill Bill Volume 1

Star Ace needs to first...apologize to fans of Quentin Tarantino?s films...second...stop producing these ghastly figures at once...third...surrender the Kill Bill license to a competent 1/6 scale figure company...then and only then, can they possibly be forgiven.
I would negotiate similar terms for Harry Potter too but I am personally not all that passionate about that license.

Is that even a new sculpt? Or is it the same travesty as before?

This whole 1/6 lineup is utterly terrible. Those James Deans are also atrocious. But somehow their statues look good? It has to be a different team or sculpting group. Also is it me or is the tailoring quality also getting worse?

I do know that Star Ace is a subsidiary of XPlus and they make a ton of beautifully sculpted godzilla and other monster related pieces. The quality is their 1/6 division is a joke in comparison.

The video says it's an "all new head sculpt."

So, probably just an all new travesty.

If that actually is a new head... its astounding how horrible it turned out again.

That Gogo at least looks... serviceable, with just enough of a likeness to the actress. But who knows what the final product may look like.

The headsculpt is new. The eyes look a little better and the hair is different

They should try sculpted hair. It may help.

The only thing that would help would be melting the figure down and donating the plastic and the license to a competent figure company.
Look at the outfit, the face, there is absolutely nothing salvageable there...just like everything else that Star Ace releases these days.

Yep. Every time I look at my Hateful 8 figures on the shelf and then revisit pictures of this Kill Bill eyesore from Star Ace I experience actual pain.

Why nobody is recasting the IMINIME head sculpt ? We know Redman is doing recast of Rainman's work. Present Toys too (maybe they are the same company ?)

Redman and PT are doing Bride figures?

Iminime was one of my first customs, paid a lot (at the time). I still like the Uma likeness in the sculpt.

I got the bike figure w/ helmet a few years later and it came with the Ducatti bike on Ebay.

No, sorry if I make it sound like they are making brides figures. I was saying they are doing recast of other artists work, like Rainman. Most of the Redman figures are recast of other people's work. Present Toys are also recasting heads from "the good, the bad and the ugly" movie and they look like Redman's ones.

So I am surprised that nobody recasted the IMINIME sculpt.

I also have it. I changed the body and the hands though. The body was of poor quality.

Got it. I was sleepy in the middle of the night when I read your comment - now that I’ve reread your comment, I misinterpreted on my end.

Yeah, the hands are crappy on the Imininme, I took the Bride out recently and noticed the paint work on the hands deteriorated.

The Lucy Liu Kill Bill figure is nice too - took me a few years to hunt it down for a decent price. We never get a licensed figure for her, maybe only in smaller scales.

Yeah I didn't find O'ren Ishii. Only the bride.
The IMINIME body deteriorate too, an arm even broke off on mine. But I used a Worldbox body and modified the neck hole on the head to be able to put it on another body (I was a little worried while modifying the neck on this very rare head sculpt)

Man I've been wanting that O-ren figure forever. I saw that the 357partment guys recently did a repaint that took it to a whole other level.

That sure is a sweet paint

Did the KB2 Bride and Go Go ever get released?

I remember the 2 James Deans were released - I passed on the Star Ace figures in favor of the Infinite Statue.

I'm not sure how StarAce is still getting these licensing rights with all their subpar products as of late.

Stallone is making his own decent store EX 1:6 figures but still signing off on his likeness for StarAce Rocky - perhaps it has something to do with the Rocky IP ownership. I think I read he doesn't have full control and was mad about it recently.
