Attempting a fairly simply fix on a link figure, and will need just a few tiny spots of color fixing too. Can anyone help me match this blue? Like I said it'll only be a toothpick dab or two, but I don't want it sticking out.
I think the 300, at least for me, would be far better spent on the allosaurs vs. camarasaur. 3 dinos vs. one, and to me the spino's pose just seems a bit dull. Plus I agree that the lack of scars really kinda makes this a lot more "meh" than say the T. rex maquette.
I think I'd hold off for a hadrosaur maquette (God-willing) before even waitlisting this piece. For some reason this piece just doesn't grab me. Hadrosaurs are some of my favorite dinos, but yeah, I just am not getting into this piece at all.
That rex was just a believer in 80s fashion sense. Perhaps Bill and Ted found him and brought him back in the phone booth, and then had to give him a radical new style, dude.
I think Sideshow took horrible pictures of this piece. Waaaay too dark. It does look like it'd be kinda tough to display dynamically as well. Also, being a scale freak, I'd have a hard time putting this next to my rex vs. triceratops, but that's just my OCD.
All that said though. Wow this...
That's a beaut of a saurapod. We have an apatosaurus in Laramie that always leaves me in awe. It's an old one that is in need of an update (its tail drags), but the little Uni of Wyoming can't really afford to update. In fact, if it weren't for a private donor, it would have been closed a...
I really like that second Allo a lot. The first isn't bad either. I liked that comment comparing dinosaurs to his wife, as well.
I made a similar comment after my first time diving with great whites, stating that this was a close second to my wedding as highlights of my life. Needless to...
All I wanted was green (even if it is subdued) on my allosaurus, Scar. Is that too much to ask? It didn't even have to be much green. I'm not picky. Ha.
But in all seriousness, that explanation makes sense and is scientifically sound, like most things you say. At least we got a very...
See, Dan's on my side. This piece, at least via the preview, looks very brown. I've seen so many artist rendering of Allos that are gorgeous colors, it just seems a shame to make it so muted. But then again, we'll just have to see the whole piece.
I think it'd look fine partially submerged. It worked well for Deinosuchus VS Parasaurolophus. And that would help with size issues. The bigger Allos the better.
Slightly off topic, but one of the best things about living in the Panhandle of Nebraska is that I am less than three hours from both Big Al and Stan, two dino celebrities, and both beautiful specimens. I visit both several times a year. The wife tolerates it, but doesn't understand.
If the Allos are relatively in scale with the Rex in the VS. dio, then this piece will be just huge. Unless they went the route of a juvie Carmarasaur, which I'd be okay with. I'd also like to see the Carmarasaur skull as the exclusive, but am guessing it'll be the Allosaur.
It's nice to see a sauropod. However, I was really hoping for Allo vs. Stego, and a solo apatosaurus or brachiosaurus. I think those could look rather majestic. However, as much as I love the Allosaurus (the first dino I ever saw in a museum, he's like a childhood friend), it's still a must...
