My personal favorite is the DX Luke as well. Although the scalper prices are crazy compared to what they original price was. If I had to recommend one, the ANH version by Hot Toys comes stacked with accessories. It may be worth holding off to see the ROTJ version first though.
I hear that lol. I was tempted too, but I'm still holding out hope HT will get their act together and do an RotJ Luke... not some overpriced 30 second cameo Luke. That TFA Luke is an insult to collectors... $230 (without shipping) for a figure that comes with nothing.
I had absolutely no intentions of getting this figure, but BBTS had a few preorders open up a few days back when I was shipping my pile of loot (which had the Hot Toys Dark Knight Armory with Bats in it)... so I bit the bullet and went ahead and preordered. I have to say that after seeing some...
Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS - Rogue One - Chirrut Imwe Collectible Figure
My thoughts exactly. At least Vader and the stormtrooper variants are a safe bet... I say the stormie variants are safe because they have never been anything other than looks and cannon fodder lol.
I'm very underwhelmed with the overall quality of this piece... especially for the price. The sculpt just looks cheap and a bit more cartoonish than a believable shrunken version of Han in carbonite. The sixth image on their website makes Han's face look more like Baraka from Mortal Kombat than...
Same here. Starboost was the only one different enough to catch my eye (and wallet). The only other odd ball I plan to get is Hulkbuster... if they ever stop delaying it... but then again I'd rather have them get it right.
I'm sure we'll see one eventually. Hot Toys' Star Wars line has turned into quite the cash grab lately, if they know they can crank out stormie variants like the Iron Man figures (I am guilty of buying in on said variants) than you can be sure they will have plenty of main character variants as...
I've said it before, and I'll say it again, I have a bad habit of buying OT stormies. And since these Rogue One troopers are in the same era I'm sure I'll be adding a few to the collection (already ordered the death trooper). That being said, I'm honestly not sure if I'll be buying this...
Re: Hot Toys Rogue One Death Trooper Specialist
Supposedly it's a newly designed under suit, but I'll admit the first thing I thought of was my Jakku trooper which has just about no articulation (the forearm armor was even cracked because of that fat suit). That being said, as the TFA line...
Played around with some natural lighting... just cellphone pictures so they're not the best quality. This guy is quickly becoming one of my favorite pieces in the collection.
I agree. The Star Wars line exploded while things were ramping up for TFA. Now that Hot Toys have seen sets like the ANH Han and Chewie sell out not once, but twice (now on it's third release), I expect we may see Star Wars figures sitting around longer because of larger production runs. Not...
Got mine yesterday as well... it's my new favorite trooper! Absolutely love it... and the slipcover insert is one of the coolest I've seen in a Hot Toys figure.
The TFA C3PO is going to have a regular gold arm as well, so unless there were any major differences in the costume (I'm not a costume expert so feel free to correct me haha) I can see HT just killing two birds with one stone with that figure.
